Jonjoe Kenny

Vomit at this suggestion. He has been absolutely terrible for 3-4 years. Bad enough for us to turf him out on loan twice no less, for a lad in his early twenties that is a red flag. Worrying indication Blue Bill still has his hand on the wheel.

Disgusted at this tbh, nowhere near good enough, of he was 21 I'd understand but he's a shocking player, hope he agrees to go to Germany. If delph is offered a contract then goes to show what a mess we are

I don't mean anything personal against the lad with regards to what i'm about to say, but we talk about how things need to change at Everton, after the season we've just endured, and we go and do something like this.

I'm sure Jonjoe is a nice lad and all, but he has no place at a premier league club with any sort of high aspirations. So yeah this ain't an encouraging sign at all.

If true then decisions like this are the reason we are where we are.

Nothing against the lad but he isn't good enough, the only reason i could see why this is happening is Coleman is going to retire and he will be back up to Patterson. Other positions are priority and with the financial mess we're in they may see this as the cheapest solution.

….I live in hope that he’s agreed a deal elsewhere meaning the fact that he has an offer from us on the table means we receive some monies (I think this applies to players we have brought through our Academy).

But he can’t play left back, he’s horrendous at it? He isn’t even an adequate right back at this level. We can’t be paying players £20k a week to do a job in the League Cup 2nd round against lower league sides.
For people who are against it, what is the preferred alternative? Release him and have even less cover when injuries undoubtedly ravage us? We are skint unless we sell so we won't be buying another right/leftback...nobody standing out in the youth setup so genuinely what are the detractors suggesting?

Yes maybe the thought process is we can’t really afford to release him and buy in another squad player to replace him

I've spent 20 mins scouring Google trying to find this (thinking it might explain this insanity), but as far as I can tell, it applies only to players under 24

There's also no solidarity payment due, because that's calculated on the basis of a transfer fee

In short, it looks like we've offered him a deal because we really want to keep him, and I'm staggered by this

James Reece is an option, should use the Chelsea connections innit...
