Why is he thick Dave? Is it because he has an accent? What he said was true...it did get stuck under his feet and he offered an explanation.. It happens to all keepers in a stage of there career. It was a mistake, he has held his hand up to that mistake and he will move on from that mistake so all we need is for you to move on from the mistake rather than use it as a dagger for eternity. You really are a very dramatic man who makes mountains out of mole hills and thrives on it.

While I agree with you that we are a giant of a club albeit a sleeping giant , the league table and our trophy cabinet in the last 23 yrs would tend to disagree with both of us

He's a Top Five PL Keeper atm, that's for sure.

Ok, I refuse to get into a Howard debate so this will be my only post on the matter. Howard is 7th all time in prem clean sheets and averaged one every 3 games. Pickford is currently worse than 1 in 5 and has a grand total of 15 to his name in 77 games. He’s got room to grow and it’s ignorant to ignore that Howard was good if not great for quite a while.

He's got a mistake in him, but literally every goalkeeper does. I agree, think Lloris is overrated though I wouldn't argue that he's currently better than Pickford.

he had two of the best in the league in front of him while Pickford had Ashley Williams! cant compare the job on pickfords hands either!!

And this is why clean sheets can be misleading. The defence we have now is the first time in Pickfords career in the top flight that he has had top defenders in front of him instead of absolute wasters or players who are way past their peak. If it wasn't John O'Shea and Billy Jones it was Williams and Coco.

You have to admit that he had some ropey games last season esp in defence
However he’s young and he was thrown in the deep end and played too many games at a young age in a poor team
That was always going to affect his developement
Injuries to Baines and Coleman done him no favours

Tim Howard was not 'an accomplished keeper', which is why he was binned off by united.

He had 1 good season with them behind a strong defence and was then given 12 and 1 league games in the next 2 seasons before being punted to us.

On his best day he was average...on his worst day he was a 1 or 2 goal headstart for the opposition.

Southall, Martyn, Myhre and Pickford are all far superior to Tim Howard.
