So @davek did you hate the goal that Aguero scored for City from an 80 yard pass by their keeper, or do you reserve your bile and invective to all things Everton?

The issue for me is you are so negative about every aspect of Everton, that your significant points are lost in a sea of gloom. Okay so you don't like Pickford, but when he does do something good, you could just say "yeah, that worked" rather than "he'll get it wrong on so many occasions, he isn't worth having".

He's our best keeper since Nigel Martin, who in turn was our best keeper since Nev, who was our best keeper ever.

That's just it, he didn't hold his hand up for it did he?

He stated that there was "nothing I could do about it". Now that isn't holding your hand up, it's someone saying that it was a problem that he had to react to...when he was the one who put it in motion in the first place.

As said: keep offering this GK a free pass and indulging him and he'll keep making these howlers.

He bolloxed up a lot there last night but we're all supposed to forget that and give him credit for launching the ball downfield route one for a goal. We see him every week for Everton making howler after howler and the penny doesn't seem to drop for many. Maybe if he did it in the derby it'd concentrate minds as to just what a clown he is?

Absolutely ludicrous to label him a clown, yes he’s made and will make mistakes, but that’s over the top and inaccurate

LOL @davek slating an Englishman because he talks funny.

I had picked Dave to like Pickford because he plays exactly like Roberto would want him to. Classic Dave this.

I'd argue that we have the players in the team now to profit off that kind of distribution. In comparison for the same scenario we'd have Richarlison, Walcott and Sigurdsson/Bernard. I think there is enough quality and pace there to do something similar.
Not exactly the same as Rashford-Kane-Sterling is it?

Take a look at my posting record on Pickford. I have supported him in the past and stated that he's as good a GK as we can get at this moment in time.

I've become increasingly disollusioned with him this season though. He is arrogant and error strewn and his head is not in the game.

His concentration levels are atrocious and are only marginally better than his chronic reactions at close quarters.

Just see what's in front of you: a bang average PL GK. The fact he plays for Everton makes no difference to me. He is in a terribly poor period of form. If there's a top class GK in there I dont see it.

And this is why clean sheets can be misleading. The defence we have now is the first time in Pickfords career in the top flight that he has had top defenders in front of him instead of absolute wasters or players who are way past their peak. If it wasn't John O'Shea and Billy Jones it was Williams and Coco.
And he still doesn't keep clean sheets lol
