Keepers need to command their six yard box, chances are if they don't make the cross they get impeded & a free kick is the outcome, better than being rooted on the goal line helpless watching the ball go into the net.

That's a big problem on here to be honest and has been that way for ages. People respond to light criticism the same way they would to a burial and thus we never really have any proper discussion and it just becomes a schism between those being wildly negative and those being excessively positive

“Disagreeing” has absolutely nothing to do with it, it’s that what’s being said doesn’t actually make sense.

You can still critique a keeper and support him. Apologists are just as bad as moaners. I think we can all admit he should have done better, but it wasn’t the biggest mistake we’ve ever seen.

Could he have done better? Obviously, but it's a pretty pedantic point to argue.

You're asking for perfection at that point and it doesn't matter how good anyone is, you're not getting perfection every week.
