So when we lost 4-0 twice under Martinez there, what was your opinion about the managers “ego” when he got it so disastrously wrong in both those games?

I am humiliated by this derby record...a record that feller has contributed to in the most embarrassing, needless of ways.

I could give a flying one about Pickford and his feelings. It means a lot less to him than it does to me, I can GUARANTEE you that.

He's an ego. That's all. His arrogance has just cost us in a Merseyside derby. I make no apology for calling him out on that. Not one bit. And his compounding of it by hiding his catastrophic error behind a coward's comment like "it's just what happens to Everton at Anfield" was a disgrace.

We have him and he has no substantial competition for a starting place. That to me is unforgivable. It's a situation we have to see addressed in January.

It would rattle out a fantastic point if Silva went out and bought a new keeper in January. That would hammer home that he wants genuine quality in depth for each position and give players who throw games away the punishment they richly deserve by dropping them.

I really like Pickford but a BIG but is he a goalkeeper in the traditional sense? He doesn’t seem to come out and command his area take catches etc etc. He does command his area stops shots with every part of his body, makes himself big in one to one situations. Seems to save/stop more shots then anybody else since Nigel Martyn. My feelings is he’ll become a legend if allowed ..

I am proper dead inside Tim. It's horrible.

We were excellent today and it's cost us. But it's a fluke. A fluke of a shot. A fluke of a mistake. A fluke of a bounce.

Look at our chance with Gomes. He heads it, Alisson saves, it comes back to Gomes, hits him, is going in, but Gomez somehow gets there and hits it against Sigurdsson and, somehow, it goes out for a corner.

Yeh, it's an awful error. But friggin hell, when their luck runs out, it's going to run out big style.

Pickford is taking all the flack and most of it is entirely justified.

But was his howler any worse than Mina heading wide with the whole goal gaping?

If we were taking our chances up the other end, the odd mistake by Pickers would not have such devastating consequences.

Slightly concerned that his next game is against Newcastle. I don’t think there could be a worse opponent for him off the back of that error. Their fans have him some disgusting abuse in the game last season which he eventually reacted to. Just hope he plays his normal game and doesn’t do anything daft.
I find it hard to sympathise with Pickford and worry about the abuse he might get from a load of horse punches.
My sympathies lie with all the blues going to school or work today to face unmerciful stick from bellends who's only reason for supporting the slime is because Sky television tells them constantly how great they use to be.
Labby got it right one Evertonian is worth 20 of them.

24 year old keeper made a mistake...

Englands 1st choice, our 1st choice and before the game was linked with a massive move to Utd which we all thought was peanuts for him.

He'll grow from this to become better.

Newcastle are in for a hiding.

Yes it was much worse, and no, not comperable. Pickford kept the ball in play, so the rs could score in the 96th minute. Its a travesty, and a lot worse than missing a shot or header.

If that game finishes nil nil, everyone praises him for a superb stop against the hobbit.

Now we are resorting to ‘not a traditional keeper’ ‘arrogant’ ‘not good enough’

Pathetic.

Why arnt we laying into Mina and gomez for missed headers in the same way?

VVD hits that 9 times out of ten and it goes over/wide/ into pick’s hands.

It was horrible BUT we matched them, could have won against a team unbeaten this season and have also stopped Chelsea from scoring for the first time this season at home.

The improvements are MASSIVE and under brands and silva and mosh things are only going to get better.

There was that much spin on the ball after Van dijks slice that it's spun back in to play, not much Pickford could've done, he had to deal with it the angle and speed it was comingmaking it difficult to judge. It's a fluke the backspin of the ball has gripped his gloves and come back in to play

...I keep saying he’s a decent keeper but I don’t trust him yet. He’s not the type of keeper I prefer but I accept a new era of goalkeeping appears to be emerging. He’s a terrific shot stopper but you want to trust your goalkeeper to deal with relatively easy situations like yesterday. It’s a major part of his job.

There are no excuses for yesterday, he let a lot of people down, not least his teammates and supporters. I need to trust him.

Look at the spin even in super slow motion, it's a freak event, a perfect storm. I reckon most keepers would've done the same and probably get the same outcome. If Van dijk hadn't sliced it, it would've gone the other side of the bar but the balls gripped and come back.
