Good luck on finding this mystical goalkeeper that doesn't make any mistakes lid, it doesn't exist.

Every goalkeeper makes them, its how you bounce back from them that you should be judged on.

Since his last mistake against West Ham he's been faultless until yesterday.
I'm really not arsed about how this loose cannon reacts and bounces back against the might of Newcastle, tbh. I want an Everton GK to rise to the occassion in a derby match. He just inflicted a self induced wound to this club and he needs to stop hiding behind his cowardly non-apology (which no one wants to hear) and start turning up in derbies and other big games.

Mr Arrogance strutting round the 18 yard box when it suits him and bigging himself up. But he's a bottler when push comes to shove.

We should have cashed in on this medicore player in the summer when he would have fetched top dollar. Now we're stuck with a 1st team GK that no top club would touch with a barge pole.

@davek identify finally revealed.

I dont care about other GKs around the world. I know this feller has cost us in two derbies and he;s a calamity waiting to happen.

I know it, and so do you and everyone else.
Is it only you and me and one or two others that can see it Dave. The problem is that people don't want to see it cause they become so wrapped up in certain players. That's been half our trouble over the years as a club yes we're all madly passionate about the club but we have to be rational and think with our heads instead of our hearts. For the most part the players did that yesterday but if a player drops a clanger the size of Pickford's then say it how it is. It was basic goal keeping.

I'm sorry, but if a goalkeeper leaves a ball to drop on his bar in the last second of a massive game, then there'd be outrage.

I'm not excusing the mistake. It's an abysmal one. But whatever he did, there's a risk.

Look at the spin on the ball. Look at the fact it somehow happens to bobble onto the crossbar and down straight to the head of Origi.

It's honestly outrageous bad luck. 9/10 times if Pickford makes that error but the ball doesn't have the spin on it to come back in. But of course it's us, at Anfield, so it does.

I know, which is why I said if he'd have tipped it out for a corner we'd have understood why. He did neither though - he didn't leave it, and didn't deal with it. He hesitated and put it back in to the danger area.

Completely agree about the luck. The Van Dijk effort was embarrassing and should have been a source of ridicule but obviously it's them so loops up perfectly to cause panic.

I would literally have any other PL GK other than this clown. ANY of them.
You've become a parody of yourself, you know that right? We're all hurting right now but some of the guff you and others have put on here is embarrassing and none more so then this last post of yours.

Give us a name of a keeper who is better then Pickford that you'd like us to peruse and we'll see if we can have an adult discussion about it because being childish and just saying you'd sooner have anyone else is beyond pathetic and stupid, I suspect you know that deep down.

Hahhahahahahah

Wish I could see the funny side of things right now. Unfortunately I'm still a bit raw about losing a derby in the last seconds after our own GK pulled a ball out of the air that was going out for a goal kick, dropped it onto the bar, then flapped away like the 'kin clown he is trying to prevent a Liverpool player sending Anfield into delirium.

You are right but its also understandable, it was a major error in a derby match where we more than held our own with the last kick of the game.

It will be laughed about for ages, just not by us.

It just show he is not quite there yet. He has all the tools but the great ones don't make mistakes like that. I think he will be fine but god its frustrating.

Someone posted a video earlier of Bruce Grobbelaar making a similarly awful error in a derby.

It happens. De Gea made a complete blunder in the World Cup against Portugal. Is he now not a great goalkeeper?

It's a stupid mistake. But it's not arrogance or over-confidence. It was simply an error in judgement. He hesitated and, because it's them, at Anfield, it cost us.

Dave I friggin hate it. But for Christ sake, it was a mistake.

Chin up Jordan lad

Made some cracking saves during the game itself

What we can't do now as a fan base is turn on him. He needs to get the biggest cheer on Wednesday when his name is read out so that his confidence can start to repair itself

I'd hope that a few days after the moment of madness, our fans can be reasonable enough to have calmed down. I'm not saying people should get over it that quickly but if anyone turns on him it's out of order. He still saved us a couple of times in that game alone anyway.

If people are turning on Pickford, they should be turning on Gomes and Mina for missing complete sitters.

That's the logic.

If I was in that team yesterday and Pickford came through the door into the dressing room i;d have tried to knock him out. 96 minutes up in flames after that arrogant spanner wnats to play to the cameras. And no mate, I dnt think it is just you and me and a few others who are livid at this feller. Only a handful of people on a forum think what he did was defensible and/or accaptable in light of whatever else he's done.

Yep, a really dreadful error. Nobody will say otherwise.

But it doesn't mean he's an awful goalkeeper. It doesn't mean he's not going to improve.

I’m still fuming with him as well... but he is a very good keeper and we simply wouldn’t be able to attract anyone better than him. We just need to hope he keeps improving and stops saving his mistakes for Liverpool.
