2018/19 Jordan Pickford

Can’t say it’s something I’ve noticed to be honest with you as a deficiency in his performance I can think of him punching well. Like I’ve explained I don’t see any keepers coming to claim a ball these days, certainly not for set pieces, not like in the 70/80/90s.

I think he is a pretty good sweeper to be honest, he’s usually good off his line despite the gaff today. In actual fact he had a decent starting point today coming out positionally and got to the ball, only for him and Zouma to completely be Teds. The keeper should have shouted, if he didn’t he’s at fault, if he did and was ignored then it’s Zoumas fault, you learn that playing under 6s.

Like I say there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence, that is why I think he needs to learn humility and needs coaching and support around his decision making and composure.

Whether that will remain or he will grow mature is just speculation really, he’s still very young in his career, Alison, Ederson and Kepra have made similar mistakes this year and they cost far more. So his price tag doesn’t come into it for me. He’s a 30 million asset who would proabably be sold for double that to be honest.

This is were we differ, I think there is loads ofnheadroom for improvement there from a pretty strong base, some of the aspects you point out are areas he needs to work on, but I don’t thing he’s at the ceiling of his development to be honest, he is very young in his career what’s this his third full senior PL season. And he’s two and half seasons into it.

That goal has zero to do with zouma mate. He has the ball under control and actually slows down to take possession of it. Don't be bringing him into Jordan's mess. It's exclusively on Pickford.

The Anfield error was so monumental it will follow him certainly for the rest of his career with us, if not all of it.

What followed immediately after was a very lame and arrogant "but this is our luck" excuse.

He should have admitted his mistake, apologised, and tried to focus.

Instead, we are now seeing more errors, serious errors costing goals. Waving his hands in the air and shouting at team mates isn't going to cut it.

He wouldn't be the first through the door here to think that a few England caps puts him on a plane above everyone else.

Seriously now, he needs to either fight for the shirt or face a long spell out.

It's just not justifiable, the lad is on an extended stinker.

Well we don’t know what happened, we are all speculating. Personally I think Zouma ignores a shout, I base that on Pickford reaction to Zouma after it.

I assume most of us played orgamisied football. We all know if the keeper shouts for the ball you leave it for him. If he did and Zouma got in his way he’s at fault.

If Pickford didn’t shout for it, he’s wholly at fault.

Pickford went bald headed at Zoumq after it, so I assume he shouted. I don’t know for certain of course.

It’s very basic stuff.

If you played organised football you'd know the keeper has no place whatsoever for being in that position with his centre half ahead of the forward and body shaped to turn away towards the touch line, in complete control.

Pickford should be no where near where he was.

Zouma completely blameless for me.

If anyone wanted to pay that I;d take the cash and laugh me bollokcs off at the mugs afterward.

Hes got way too much missing from his game for me. I cant accept we have to oversee that development. Let some other club do it. We cant afford it.

You probably could be more wrong, but I can’t think how off the top of my head.

Pickford should not have been anywhere near the incident piss poor decision making.

I actually think we would look at it, we are hearing the one in one out player trading spin from Brands, aka sell to buy and only really Pickford or Richarlison are worth anything likely to give his funds to invest decently.

That’s a fair point, there may not have been a need for him to be there and that decision could be questioned.

Fact is was though he was and if he gave the shout, the defender should have left it. That’s a basic thing in football, Keeper is the Alpha as he is the only one with a full view of the pitch.
