He's a good keeper but he has a really, really bad habit of acting up during big games and ending up with egg on his face. I'd be happy if he stayed but just didn't play any derbies or against Newcastle ever again.
What about those two brilliant saves he pulled off to ensure we won at Anfield last year?

He's been consistent for the past year now. He doesn't act up in the big games anymore. It's been blatantly noticeable.

He's not amazing but if we stay up he isn't a problem and , if we stay up, nobody is offering what his value is so we wouldn't be selling him.

Really? Have you NOT seen the terrible mistakes in Burnley game?

An awful keeper. Sell, going down or not. I would prefer the Wolves keeper myself.

My daughter in law is a psychologist (can't spell it) and she asked me if he had AHD as she noticed his behaviour on the pitch with the talking to himself and hitting himself and the goal posts

Terrible mistakes in the Burnley game? What are you on about?

Yeah, that Wolves goalkeeper has made 5 errors leading to shots this season - so five actual mistakes - and one of those resulted in a goal.

Pickford has made 1 error resulting in a goal, and that was against Spurs when Son scored - it went down as a goalkeeping mistake. That's the only one (leading to a shot too) that he's made all year.

Jose Sa has had a brilliant season when it comes to shot-stopping but he's made some absolutely horrendous errors. He literally made one against us in the game at Molineux and somehow it just went across the face of goal.

Yeah he's not done that in well over a year regularly.

He started seeing a sports therapist after the VVD incident and really calmed down. He's been very consistent now for the last 14 months for both club and country.

Sure, he could do better with some shots at him, but when your defence regularly leaves players unmarked in 5 yards of space then that's what happens.

@[Deleted Member] if the mistake you're referring to in the Burnley game is his sliced clearance, then I struggle to see how you can blame him.

For one, that only comes about because Kenny, the thickest person to grace this planet, decided to shoot from 25 yards out, despite him being in the centre of the pitch with pretty much all of our time on the left-hand side of the field as that's where we had possession and were looking to play out for the point, and were doing so relatively well.

Burnley break from that and Pickford hesitates and, on his weaker foot, slices a clearance out. From the resulting throw, Everton deal with the danger and then Godfrey makes the worst clearance I have ever seen and somehow Cornet is left unmarked to score. It's a comedy of errors but Pickford's is relatively small.

When you then think again, Pope made exactly the same mistake at the other end about 5 minutes earlier but, because Burnley's defence isn't as bad as Everton's, their CBs didn't make a total mess of the clearance.

also the first goal

That is not nealy as funny as you suggesting we'd get 15mil for him
If we go down, he's got 2 years on his deal and he's on £100k a week so you'd imagine we'd need to cash in.

What club comes in and buys him for more than that, considering his wage and our financial issues, if Everton are in the Championship?

I assume you missed the part at the weekend where he exaggeratedly fell down on the ball to kill some time, smiled and then winked as he stood up. For that same incident to then be replayed all over the place when their goalkeeper quite simply trolled him and made him look like a clown. Time wasting and killing any momentum was clearly part of the game plan. That’s absolutely sound. Gurning for the camera and to try and wind up the supporters when it’s only the first half is idiotic. Keep your composure and wind people up when the job is done.

He has that in him, and always will do. He’s good for England and I don’t doubt he’s been fine for us, but for me he has clownish tendencies and I question him as a defensive leader. Again, this doesn’t mean I think he’s a bad goalkeeper but he’s certainly a middling one IMO.

He did it three times before that. Goalkeepers always do it.

He was getting dogs abuse from the crowd and it was approaching half-time. He winked to Holgate, too, nobody in the friggin crowd.

Schmeichel did it all game the other night.

I think he's a middling goalkeeper too. But if we stay up he isn't an issue because the issues are in front of him. If we go down we'll probably need to cash in if we can.

Ball crossed into back post, Pickford mode enabled.

The amount of wages off our books this year and next, keeping Englands number one will not be that big an issue. We will be hoping to come back up
