With England, who's defence isn't amazing as individuals but is very well drilled by Southgate, Pickford has played a key role in reaching a SF and a final. He's a good goalkeeper. Not amazing, not bad.

There's an article in the Athletic today about Mina's importance to the team. Because he's a defensive leader and is the one who actually lifts people to the next level ahead of Pickford, and then if he makes mistakes we can put it down to him.

But when you've got Holgate playing everyone onside or Keane allowing players free runs at goal then I'm not putting blame on the GK, unless it's something like the Son goal which, clearly, he should have done much better with.

Stop comparing England to us, it's a lower standard of football and we are never going to control games the way they do. It isn't a useful exercise.

He had a few saves to make but nothing that troubling and any of them going in would have been really bad. The standard is just so low.

He's been a lot more consistent than a lot of others for the past year so I'd rather hammer the crap ones

His performance isn't good but you all refuse to believe in stats and also don't want to have to state that simply everyone at the club is pretty bad. It's why we're holding on to Richarlison and his bleh level of play as well. Our best players don't even get into a European team right now.

Richarlison could play for any of the top 4.

City give Grealish games.

No mate, he is Englands number one and our second most consistent perormer in this awful season. You have made your bed and appear too stubborn to get out of it when you could occasionally put your hands up and admit he had a good game/month/season.

As for Richie, we are not holding on to him at all, he is just our player.

Thats probably because you go on all the time about stats but never actually show any to backup your points. Also I don't think there are many who really think our players are actually good enough because they simply are not otherwise we wouldn't be in the position we are. As for Richarlison we are not holding on to him whatsoever, we cant sell him as its not a window nor has anyone offered any money for him. If you want to believe the media stuff its us who are offering him about to clubs.

It does but I think you've missed what I'm saying which is Grealish is way better than Richarlison.

There is basically a top 8 this year with a gap to 9. Richarlison could maybe get onto the bench for a few of them, but realistically he's not an automatic starter for any. Pickford competes with Ramsdale but he's not playing for anyone else. He doesn't get on West Ham's bench unless they're playing a Carlo two keepers lineup.

One key to fixing this mess is going to be properly evaluating how bad it is.

For me that's the best statistical measure of shot stopping that is easily accessible to the public.
