2021/22 Jordan Pickford

Take your pick really. I through out some names before but the list is pretty long, half of Germany, Italy, Spain and France have keepers who are in theory as good and cheaper. You'd have to evaluate who suits the PL and I'm not qualified for that. Walter Benitez is one who intrigues me. He's been really good 3 out of the last 4 seasons. Also Rajkovic who again had a down year last year but has some really high peaks.
You had me worried there with Walter Benitez, I thought you had said Waiter Benitez. I was thinking you wanted him due to his ample girth filling a large portion of the goal.

Bit stupid of him to offer up 3/4 of the goal to shoot at in the free kick. His run up suggested that's where it was going, 99% oh the time players will go there from that angle with their left foot. Why he was therefore standing all the way over to his right baffles me. If he was 2 metres more to the left he could have got to it.

Are you blind?

Are you seriously blaming Pickford for that?

Give it a rest.

It was a great free kick. But the goalkeeper made it easier by offering up 3/4 of the goal. Simple as that. Not saying he'd have saved it, but he'd have given himself a much better chance.
Have you seen a free kick before?

Especially at an angle like that.

The wall was protecting that side, he was protecting his.

It's a belting freekick. Just say that. Nothing to do with the keeper doing anything wrong.

It's just another for the collection of nothing he can do.

But it is also another goal conceded from outside of the penalty area. An area where he is consistently at or near the top of the division at. No you shouldn't save every one, but he's not saving nearly enough, again.

So no today wasn't his fault, but again the cumulative effect of having a below average goalkeeper is hurting us. Maybe he does save that and the whole game changes as we did a lot of good things and probably don't lose without the screamer flying in. He didn't though, and rarely does.

We get five more years of this probably minimum.

Don't you start haha

No keeper is saving that unless they gamble. If he gambled and conceded keepers side you'd be in here, rightfully, slagging him off.

That's a belter, if anyone's to blame its Holgate for giving it away.

a bit harsh, if he started closer to the near post the far post is gaping and easier to get the ball up and down. It wasn't Rockford's fault, it was a very good finish. Where we can be critical is giving away soft free kicks on the edge of the box

Typical the way that came about, with which ever west Ham player it was trying to play a 1/2 etc and it came back to him, to then have Holgate make the foul
