Last Film You Watched

Can't find a podcast thread so I'll ask this in here.

What do we make of the new Kermode and Mayo podcast? Don't know how I feel about it.

I don't want to hear discussions about second rate TV shows ffs. Seems to be very little film chat, especially compared to the BBC product.

100%

He's absolute toilet. Deserves every crap role offered.

Hey, it pays the bills.

I've nothing against him as an actor though - perfectly good at what he does but his dumb action flicks aren't even that much fun or stupid enough. They're just a bit nuts and bolts dull.

300 is probably the exception. That's an interestingly done, hugely stupid and often fun pile of absolute shallow nonsense.

I love Gerard Butler and his crap films for some reason. Geostorm is one of the most bonkers and hilarious movies I have ever seen and I get a great kick out of watching it and imagining the deranged creative process that went into producing it

I guess you can rely on him to provide brainless entertainment to kill a few hours.

That series of films with him a secret service guy, he's a magnet for trouble. Any president would be a fool to keep him around.

He needs to do a full on action film alongside the Cage Meister.

Unlimited budget for big guns, explosions, cars getting blown up and planes falling out of the sky.

I`d 100% pay to go and see that.

Not listened to it in a while tbh but that's a shame, although you could argue TV is as good, if not better, that a lot of mainstream films these days.

Loads more creative freedom

Bohemian Rhapsody which was excellent , much better than Elton's Rocket Man which I didn't like although the book is brilliant .
Watch Bohemian Rhapsody every six months or so. Lump in throat every time. Was never a fan of Queen but the film altered that.
Same with Elvis. Tolerate him and his music at best. But having seen the trailer for the upcoming film, I'll deffo be going to watch that.

The plot needs to be absolute insanity. It's the year 2035 and the Earth is running out of water. A team of scientists make an incredible discovery: There is an entire planet's worth of ocean beneath the surface of Saturn. Seizing on this chance at salvation, they build a giant vessel/container to mine Saturn's water and return it to Earth to fill the ocean beds. This vessel, which they call "The Ark" is captained by the only man crazy enough to undertake such a mission: Jake "Cutter" McGraw (Gerard Butler), nicknamed because of his propensity for uppercutting executives and stuffed suit politicians when they get in his way.

He has a notoriously short fuse and a streak of alcoholism, both of which contributed to the acrimonious divorce of him and the mother of his genius savant child. On board this mission too is Hersh Grabsmeier (Nic Cage), a shameless, greasy haired capitalist who is there to make sure the project doesn't run over budget and that the shareholders are kept happy (this part of the plot doesn't make any sense, and no attempt will be made to clarify it).

As they return to the earth with the ocean, Grabsmeier makes his play, hacking the systems on board and taking control of the vessel. His plan: to hold the earth to ransom and sell water at skyhigh prices to nations around the world and become filthy rich. McGraw has to take back control of the ship and pilot it back to earth, or all life will die out in exactly ...72 Hours. With the help of his genius savant daughter who snuck aboard the ark, can McGraw and his crew save the world from climate change and unscrupulous capitalism? The only way to find out is to watch OCEANFALL, coming to a cinema near you this summer
