I don't think he'd want to go there, but I think it would be best-case for us.

They are where we were 5 years ago - only even richer and even more desperate.

They've got too much money and really want to land some names. We could rinse them, if he was willing to go.
I definitely don’t want him to go there. Why strengthen a team who we are in a relegation battle against?

No, he does that...and then they are completely 'kin uselss at carrying them out.
Have you ever thought the tactics are unworkable in a top league? He had 2 weeks to prepare for the game and his piece of genius was to play a very right footed right back on the left and a back 5 against Brighton, let's not forget about the 2 in midfield. Total amateurism!

Drew with Spurs, United, Chelsea and beat Arsenal - were they not working then?

Imagine if Digne was a human being.

He takes a job that seems to have good prospects, gives his best and impresses.

Turns out after a couple of years that, even though the job is decent, the company is a mess he loses motivation and looks around for other opportunities whilst he still can to keep his career at the top level.

I guess we'll see how much credit he has in the bank depending on the bids that come in - we should be building up for a good sale, not undermining him though !

But he's French...

There is no good outcome here. We're losing one of the few quality players we have on our books because the manager is a pretty, angry little man that can't ever let go of a grudge. Someone will gain a great player in Digne and they'll do it on the cheep at our expense.

Digne is a fantastic player but at the moment he doesn't suit how the manager wants to play and unfortunately it looks like benitez isn't going anywhere.

If we can sell a player who doesn't fit the system and bring in two players who do fit the system in areas we desperately need players (hopefully) it will make us a better side overall.

For what its worth id rather we keep digne and shoot benitez out of a cannon into the sun but I'm looking for positives here.

Lost to plenty of worse teams as well.

Tactics certainly weren't working when he left all his strikers on the bench Vs Brentford , playing Coleman at left back at the weekend, not suring up the midfield until losing by 2 goals etc.

As much as you like to defend him, as much as I defended the position he was in at the club for so long. You can't look at the game management week to week and be satisfied at that. He has lost us games just as much as the players have.

6pts from a possible 12, in them game's we never looked anything but relegation fodder using dated tactics to try and scrape a result same as against Watford Brentford and every other team we've faced. He hasn't got a clue how the modern game is played and I've seen a lot of lambasted player's pull him out of the crap by ignoring his tactics!

Devil's advocate here.

What if the system is not one that should be improved?

I agree with what you are saying , I said it for a good while that benitez needs his players here for his tactics. Just watching us all season, is the system one we actually want to have?

lol lol lol

Newcastle loan with option to buy?!

They're a direct competitor with us right now. FFS Ebepton!

If we LOAN Digne to the barcodes then we are utter fools. It would be the most Everton thing ever if we loaned them Digne and they survived at our expense.

To be honest I find this whole story depressing and tawdry. We have never been a club that treats players like this. See Blue Bill's comments on McCarthy for instance. Lucas Digne has served the club well over the last 3+ years. Player of the year in his first season, worn the captains armband on many occasions, stepped in to play left midfield or centre back even when needed. He is a good player who crosses a ball better than anyone who played at the weekend.
We are selling him because he had the temerity to disagree with the coach. Not in public but inside Finch Farm.
If he weren't our player we would be pulling out all the stops to sign him for a far bigger fee than we will sell him for.
This is bad business and not the Everton way.
Shameful.
