Was with this until he cried off 'sick' vs Chelsea.

Lost me at that.
Has any manager that managed him, ever, got into a situation like this or called him out for unprofessional behaviour? During his time at Everton he’s been made vice captain and attitude has been nothing but lauded as an example to follow. There hasn’t even been so much of a hint of attitude or unprofessional behaviour.

The Echo columnists aren’t exactly quick to criticise an Everton manager - even the Royal Blue podcast were scratching their head about it and questioning Benitez’ approach. All they’ve ever heard coming out of the club is that Digne is a well liked and extremely professional.

On the other hand we’ve got a manager who has a long history of fall outs and various ex players saying his interpersonal skills are poor (to say the least).

You might ask yourself why Digne refused to play for Benitez. I’d say it must have been pretty extreme for him to react the way he has.

He’s going, we’ll move on, shame it had to end like this but let’s not rewrite history and say he’s a bad professional because he’s not.

lol lol lol

"A favour" getting cash for a washed up diva Frenchman.

He's just mugged him like he was walking through the Bluebell Estate with his dole cash.

Absolutely in stitches thinking of his gobby agent throwing his stats dossier around and the only call he gets back is Stevie Me.

‘Erm Lucas, it’s a big big club, it really is, wonderful training centre, Dechamps drops in all the time I promise’

Getting minimal cash for a player who can actually put a decent performance in you mean.

How can people be happy with Everton potentially selling him for £20 million. Meanwhile, Liverpool can sell some absolute no-marks who played three games for the exact same amount.

20 million for a player that'd just signed a long term contract, and selling him to a rival team. The state of that. Barry at the car boot would be able to wrangle a better deal than that.
Digne's current contract would outlast our manager. If we weren't skint, a loan could have been OK.

This could be great for Villa. They could also be making similar mistakes to us when we were trying to get into that top 6. Digne and Coutinho are expensive (wages will be very high) and won't have sell on value. They aren't that quick which seems to be more and more important.

The fraud has gone to secure his world cup spot at

Chelsea
PSG
Atletico
Bayern
Inter

Aston Villa

Mings is poor, Bailey is injury prone, they struggle to accommodate Ings and Watkins in one side. Coutinho is only a loan. They are 3 points above us

Ming's - better than all our CB.
Bailey - Iwobi...
Ings and Watkins is a good headache to have
3 points above...Which is why they've changed managers...

That's all well and good mate but he decided he didn't want to play a football match for the club.

As I said, I was with Digne until then.

No mate.

Three good bits of news for the club:

1/ cup win
2/ good home draw
3/ rat out of the house

It's been a good day for us. How's your weekend football experience been? Very different I expect. :coffee:
Delighted with the cup win.
Cup draw was OK, could've been better, could've been worse.
Didn't realise we'd sacked Benitez, happy days.

If he was any good then top clubs would have been in for him. If Villa is the best he can get then it’s not a big loss for us, especially if we invest the fee well in an area of the squad that needs it more.

Villa look like they’re doing what we fell foul of a bit. Players who might not want to be there going for big wages. Bailey has offered nothing so far, Ings hasn’t really paid back the investment and has put Watkins off a bit. Digne and certainly isn’t going to be dying on a hill for Aston Villa and will be on big wages. How does Coutinho play with Buendia?

We had this in the summer when they went for Bailey for big money and we went for Gray. Perhaps finally we are learning our lesson in the transfer market.

You can say that about any signing who doesn't go to a big club.

What we have done is strengthened a rival.

All Villa's criticisms are against their old manager. They have a new one who is far more progressive than our dinosaur.

But it's fine. A lot of folks will see this as a masterstroke.
