Lukaku - Love affair over ?

I mean I agree with you that he has some serious flaws as a player (plus the gift of making fans hate him), but let's not descend into complete bolloxology here - As Saintdomingo said above - the lower leagues are stowed with big, fast, strong strikers who can't play football, and none of them find the onion bag like Rom. What do you think he does well?

He can finish... left footed he is pretty accurate.
But we were talking about his penalty box movement- it isn't good. He creates space through his size and ability to create a yard with athleticism like he did against Keane when he was at Burnley.

Lukaku is a very very lucky player. You could get quite a few players to do his role in those sides and they would do well. Not many get the chance.... he's been extremely charmed but ultimately found out.

Who needs a striker that gives the ball away every other touch? Not us.....

Sunday gave a pure example of why a team playing a top side can't have lukaku....

A simple out ball found lukaku on the halfway line... counter attack was on for Man United. Lukaku immediately lost the ball due to a bad touch. 44 man city passes later and the ball is in the net. Twice in the move a man city player just moved the ball passed a not arsed Rom.

Lessons:-


1. You don't give the ball away to top teams cheaply.

2. Top teams have players who can control and pass a ball.


On both lessons lukaku fails. This is why he is being found out. He was allowed to be garbage at Everton by the panellists.... man united are a sky darling... the panellists don't like it.

Thing is though he wasn't garbage here.
