Well I had this set up to tape on Setanta here in the USA but they change the time from 4pm to live at 2pm so I had to wait for the replay at 7pm tonight, while you all are in your beddy bye. My quick observations:
  • Hard for me to pick a MoM but I just kept coming back to Jags over and over and over so he gets it. Honorable mentions to Carsley, Yak, & Cahill.
  • Speaking of Cahill, he had a very good match tonight. Better than he's had lately.
  • When I saw Neville and Carsley paired together with just the Yak up front, I was pretty ticked, especially after how we dismantled Brann. But give credit to 'em, they did extremely well.
  • Speaking of Neville. One good thing about him in the midfield is that he has to make quick decisions on the ball. Hence, he doesn't have too much time to think about the pass and muck it up.
  • Howard = Solid.
  • Hibbert did another one on Petrov. And I thought I liked Petrov but after seeing his attitude on display tonight, he'd never fit at Everton. Well done Hibbo.
  • Great quick kick by Carsley in the 2nd half after the foul on Yak but even better save by Hart.
  • Refereeing. I other than all of the missed handballs, I didn't think he was that bad. Didn't have a blinder but allowed the play to go on much of the night.
  • We're never gonna get a penalty awarded to us this year.

Great win. Great three points. Danny, update your sig.

That is all.

The longer these absurd decisions are given against us the more I'm convinced that some form of 'old pals act' is taking place with the refs. They hold meetings, discuss 'matters within the game, items to look for and I'm sure the Clattenwat business has been a topic of conversation. I wish some of you kids could comply a video of some of these appalling decisions for the world to see, some are so wrong one is forced to believe that an element of corruption is involved(n)(n)(n)(n)(n)

Is there someone with video editing skills (Cal?) who might be able to put together something like this?

That way we can't be accused of just being a bunch of 'sore losers' or anything, and actually show people what we're talking about?

E.g. penalties not awarded against reds in derby; AJ goal disallowed; Citeh handballs etc

That is exactly what i want to see, lets put it out on You Tube, send it to the FA do something because this is happening game on game and it is corrupt! That prick actually was laughing at our appeals last night as if to say 'you lot are getting sweet bugger all from me'

Corking game. MOM for me was Lescott (again).
Ossie never had a bad game either.
Manny must have some serious injury to take a really slight barge like that and be in agony and have to be subbed.

Anyone know whats up with Arteta?

jagielka motm, solid, but every blue nose chipped in last night. even tim cahill who has been pissing me off with his workrate over recent times

Was thinking of doing one, but it's hard to trying to find the highlights of the games.

I take back everything I've ever said about Hibbert. He was amazing last night and deserves a lot of credit for the win. The amount of crosses he blocked from Petrov was ridiculous. Petrov's reaction at the end was typical of his attitude and never something you'd see from an Everton player. He was asking to be sent off and the ref couldn't ignore it, how ever hard he tried. It just showed how good a job Hibbert did on him and his reaction was probably all down to Hibbert not giving him a sniff. He may not be the best player going forward but boy can he defend. Sorry for doubting you Tony. I should have listened to you HalewoodB last week you were completely right about him.

You could nearly start a thread of everton injustices. Here's one that shows the first penalty we should have got last night.

It was funny watching Osman's reaction, in another highlights video, after the ref blew the wistle before he sent off Petrov. Osman thought the ref was giving a free against him which didn't seem too unlikely based on earlier decisions.

He had a very good game but he is still nowhere near good enough. He is scared of having the ball at his feet. That should be anathema to the kind of team we want to be. And I think the idea that he is some great defender is a myth. Look at the stats for the league this season:

1334 minutes played with Hibbert in defence, 18 goals conceded, that's 1 every 74.1 minutes.

1096 minutes without him, 5 goals conceded, 1 every 219.2 minutes.

He is the definition of a weak link.

Utter rubbish, he is by far our best right back in terms of defending but his problem his going forward and always has been wereas Neville is the opposite, ie good going forward but an awful defender

Utter rubbish? Utter facts. How do you explain those stats? The defence is much less assured with him in it.
