See another issue about this, the support for the first 35 minutes was fantastic, but all most are talking about was the disgraceful fan moment late in the second half.
If we give the players the same support against Bournmouth we give ourselves an edge, if we carry on with this culture of abuse we do ourselves no favors, and we wonder why its not an attractive club to join.

The manager called on Holgate to help out because we had injured players, if I was Holgate if he asked me again I would refuse on the principle we dont deserve to be saved

Would you then terminate your contract if you were in that position?

Or would you utilise everything you have available to perform?

I would do whats best for me

Of course.

But the fact you'd have all the resources available to you to help you overcome what your going through... financially, personally, professionally...you're going to be in a better position.

Professional players at whatever level have a stronger mental capacity that I think some give them credit for. I've got friends who never made it purely based on the mental side of the game at 16/17...and a large part of that is playing in front of a crowd. Can be like Messi in training but then Sunday league level in front of 50 people shouting at you. It's the first thing they, signing at a professional level, learn to cope with easily.

He didn’t want to play that badly, he was obviously gutted at how he played and being subbed, which is a shame.

That said, I wouldn’t judge the fans that booed, they’re in the stadium, emotions are high and it’s in the moment.

He’ll be sold in the summer, he needs it for his career as much as we need him off the books - what have his last three games been - Man City, the Palace red card and the Bournemouth cup game where he slipped on his arse and gave them a goal? Had high hopes for him at one point.

On a personal level I feel for the guy, I don't want to hear that again from us towards one of our own. That said, he has been here long enough to know that casua,l laid back strolling around, strewn with slips, mistakes and not getting in front of your man wont go down well with the proletariat.

I think if we get relegated, you`ll be in for a bit of a shock, if you think he`s getting sold tbh.

No, but it helps a lot more compared to people that don't have the privileges he has.
Poor mental health can get to anyone it has no bounds. At a whim a modern premier footballer can access immediate mental health crisis care from the onset. While many if not most others in the UK will be languishing on waiting lists for months if not more.
