Keane was a regular starter for us for a good while, I don't Holgate has ever tied down a regular starting place, certainly not in the same position (I know he has covered a few areas when injuries have hit).

By that it makes sense Keane should be on a 'better' contract than Holgate, but certainly not to the extent that he is on.

Them 2 and Godfrey are on far more than they're worth.
Mate , apart from probably Branthwaite, every Everton player is on more than they are worth

Will a miracle occur where we can get rid of him for money this summer? I guess the booby prize will be offloading him on loan and paying 3/4 of his salary and then waving goodbye in 12 months.

Former England u-21 international centre back with over 100 Premier League appearances to his name, still only 27 years old and in the final year of his contract at a club desperately wanting to offload him at probably any reasonable price.

Absolutely zero interest from anywhere.

….you forgot to mention he’s on £70k per week. Saying that, in his last year he might be tempted with a 3 year deal elsewhere.

Big wages, probably good for 2/3 red cards a year, probably add another 10 or so yellows onto that and not very good.

You sound surprised ?

Right now he's guaranteed about £3.5m off us (unbelievable) and will then have no guaranteed future income. He must know his future salary is going to be a tiny fraction of what he's on here, reducing with each week he doesn't play a minute's football. Get gone now on a free and grab a £15 - £20k a week contract for four years while you MAY have the chance.

Id offer him a new contract on less money, see if he accepts. Hes decent back up for a few positions and no transfer fee required.

Would rather keep him and sell Keane, as i think we'd get more for Keane, and Keane is older and probably on more money.

I was thinking about it a few days ago. At the start I thought okay he is versatile and a good player for squad depth

On the other hand, even if he accepted lower wages, he would make I don’t know linke minimum 50K p/w. That is still not good enough. So, if it was up to me I would probably wait until deadline day to find a loan for him and if nobody aas interested a mutual termination.

He can of course also impress Dyche but it is not likely is it he was dreadful for both the saints and shef wednesday
