I'm anti-tory, anti-monarchy, yet I hate the behaviour of those idiots because it's nothing but performative nonsense and I don't want to be associated with it.

I cringe whenever I'm at a gig in this city now and there's a bunch of kids trying to hijack it singing "[Poor language removed] the tories" .

As has been said, these people couldn't tell you why they hate the monarchy or why they hate the tories.

Can't you see you're being conned and brainwashed? In your own words you're anti-Tory but you are taking sides against a few kids shouting the same? The Tories have the media - grassroots opposition is all there is

There idiots that lot, they think they are making a stand, Boss Night haha they sing about Thatcher who ruled YEARS before most of them were born.

You're obviously not at these gigs, like I often am. They're often doing it over the music. Even at the Fontaines gig at the Uni last Autumn, some of the band had a look that said "fine sentiments, but don't sing this while we're playing".

I'm not taking sides at all. I'm just saying it's all disingenuous and over time will do more damage than good.

You're right in saying grassroots opposition is where it's at. Which is why I'm a member of my union, attend rallies and try to do my bit. I doubt a lot of those lads can say the same. It's all performative.

Did see you Jarvis Cocker last year at the Wind Factory? Some knobheads starting it then, he joked about it, possibly agreed with the sentiment but at the same time had a look of WTF is this nonsense?

I was there, it was full of them that night.

Same with Sam Fender.

It's all Websters fault, who was encouraged by his management company to portray himself a certain way to gain a following outside those BOSS nights.

I didn't mate, but it would have been the same as the FDC one...
"Here's a new one...", drowned out by "Maggie's in the mud, in the mud..." ; "Put that bit on youtube, lid"
