Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Afternoon everyone. Had a busy day so far - 3 big bull breeds to walk and husbands car in for service (both in one month 😩). The more time I spend with these dogs the more I know it’s humans that screw them up as they were totally adorable. @Vegas Toffee Girl - I hope you’re ok 💙, @Gwladysover - cold mornings and early starts are not the best mix so get that heating on, we’ve started to pop it on for an hour in the evening too.
Quiz night on TV, sad I know but I do enjoy it 😀

No I haven’t seen it blue. Will check it out.

What was eye opening for you?
Well as you know I am not into politics or religion so the way it was then was a shock as I thought/ hoped things had moved on more and that the "old" feelings had subsided a bit more than that reports . The emerald isle itself is truly stunning as we all know so I had hoped it would be different .

Good evening all. I hope you are all OK, especially @Vegas Toffee Girl . I agree with you @Val P irresponsible owners are surely to blame for the dog's behaviour.
We had the heating on this morning. It was 2°C when I took Mr F to work.
I have a very large bone to pick with the previously perfect DCL. There is a daft Q and A thing with him on the Everton website. One question is 'Dogs or cats?' He says ' Dogs. I hate cats. Cats are weird' I may have to re-evaluate our relationship 🤣🤣
My work move got confirmed today so I start in my new team on Nov 6th. I'm looking forward to it. I've also been to the gym today and did a bit of cardio. I've also fully embraced healthy eating again. It is genuinely amazing how much better you feel when you cut out the crap.
The big question I am struggling with is do I bench all the Everton players in my fantasy team this weekend? It's unlikely they will score many points so why not take them out. But then again......you never know.

I have found it on BBC iPlayer and will give it a go later in the week when work settles. Thanks for the heads up about it.

We ( well the animal charity that Mrs J and her sister set up and which I support) had some great news today.
After undertaking due diligence the trustees of Paul.O'Grady have awarded us a £20000 donation in recognition of our dedication and to enable us to continue our work.
Not only is the money important but equally the it's a boost to all staff and volunteers to be recognised in this way .

@anjelikaferrett great to see you back in your health regime and good luck with the new post. We too succumbed to the cold and put the central heating on last night to coincide with me fleecing and protecting so of the less hardy tropical plants..

@Val P brilliant work at the rescue and I couldn't agree more with your sentiments.

Well done all of you for getting that ,super work .

Morning all. Great news to start the day re the donation @jazzy and your new post @anjelikaferrett. Totally agree about dog owners @Val P, some need the training as much as their dogs.
Off to Specsavers to pick up my glasses later. The prism lens meant that only one frame was suitable. I’m not that keen on them but at least they weren’t from the Dame Edna range. lol
Have a good day, all💙

Morning everyone. Great news about the job @anjelikaferrett and well done on the gym. I feel so much lighter, younger and full of life when I’ve been to the gym - it’s all those endorphins, no wonder they recommend exercise for helping with mental health problems. I’m afraid I’m with DCL on the animal front - much more of a dog person. I’ve never had a cat even though they are beautiful and cute and I can see why they are so loved.
Such great news for the rescue @jazzy and well deserved. We’ve fleeced our small lemon tree too. We usually bring it into the conservatory but it’s full of ants so it’s staying out. Good luck with the glasses @Gwladysover. I have to confess that I detest my varifocals and it’s now too late to get them changed. I’ve never worn the sunglasses and I use the other ones just for reading, shopping and pottering round the house. By teatime I’ve had enough of them. Can’t wait to hear your news @blue1948 .
Have a great day all 💙

Hello everybody. That's absolutely great news for the charity @jazzy. Hope you get the glasses sorted @Gwladysover . I'm also intrigued as to what is going on in @blue1948 's corner of the world. This morning it was -3C here. Proper frost on the car, I had to scrape it off. The cat is over the moon that the heating is back on, even just for an hour or so in the morning. She has moved to her favourite winter spot on one of the dining chairs with her paws just touching the radiator.
Day off tomorrow. I love Wednesdays! Meeting up with some friends for lunch to celebrate an old work colleague's 80th birthday. She was my line mananger back in the day for a short time. A samll Scottish lady who we affectionately referred to as Jimmy Krankie! I'm going to drive so no temptation to drink.
Either before or after that I'll have to buy something for Mr F for our 32nd wedding anniversary on Thursday. We don't go mad on anniversary presents so it will just be a little gift.

it looks like Netherlands are about to beat South Africa in the cricket world cup. This could open the door a bit more for England to qualify for the semi finals. I'm still not comvinced though.

I've decided to make chicken curry for tea tonight. We haven;t had it for ages so I'm looking forward to it.

Have a good evening all.
