2019/20 Moise Kean

Thats my concern I have with the club - with Brands coming in I hoped we would get a ruthless streak but we seem compelled to giving garbage more time than what they deserve.

We all knew Tosun wasnt suited for Silva's style yet we gave him last season and didnt bring a CF in.

This season we knew DCL isn't premier league quality yet we've looked to have given him ANOTHER bite of the cherry.

I just wish the club/manager/DOF had some balls and do what is obviously needed to be done in and around the club.

Its why we have no winning mentality.
Tosun and Niasse has offers but chose not to go. In the end there is not much Brands could do if they won’t go.
Our spending was in large part funded by quite a lot of player sales. I suspect that buying another striker would have meant not pursuing one of our other signings. The Brands project will take years. He said so himself.
He is still unwinding the previous regimes problems and will be for another two years.
He also is hampered with not being able to make signings for the academy. That has delayed the full range of his project by years.

It will be something like this....

Premiership goals....

Richarlison 13
Iwobi 8
Siggurdsson 8
DCL 7
Kean. 4
Bernard 4
Walcott 4
Digne 4
Keane 2
Coleman 2
Mina 2

Iwobi has only scored 9 league goals in 87 appearances across the last 3 seasons.

Might be a tad unrealistic to expect him to almost treble his output from last season when he made 35 appearances in a much better side.

we will not be challenging any top 4 / 6. we will be fighting for 7/8/9 with liecester and west ham. people need to re-assess where they think we will finish this year. we are also an injury to a CB away from playing kids..

But we really shouldn’t be slogging it out with West Ham, Leicester and Wolves for 7th. We really shouldn’t. We’re spending top six cash and have done for two years.

It’s quite rightly raised expectations. 7th should be ours this season. Categorically. Any less is abject failure on Silva’s part. That’s where we are and where we should be.

You say we have spent top 6 cash for the last 2 years.

The top 6 have spent top 6 cash for the last 20 years.

oh my lord.
58 goals we are getting are we ?

That's how I see it 58+ with what I have seen this season....

We scored 54 goals last season so should be slightly better this season & pushing top 6.....

Kean was bought for the future & will take time to settle & develop....

Still 2/3 good players short of squad capable of challenging top 4.....

We still look short, but we seem to be making good progress & going in the right direction....

how many goals we netting this season Goat ? whats your estimate

I dont concern myself with how many goals we score, how many we concede, how many points we get.

Theres a reason most managers take football a game at a time, the last game isnt important, only the next game matters, the only thing matters is how many we score at Bournemouth and how many we concede.

We havent got started this season at all yet, few 20minutes spells here and there, but nothing to get excited about.

But im very excited about the potential this team has, its not there yet, but we are in the process of building a very good squad.

Its just not completed yet and its going to take time to gell.

People just need to display a degree of patience that is sadly very lacking in a fanbase that hasnt won a pot for 25 years.

Yep - our fans couldnt wait to put the boot in towards the RS when they were throwing money around like a drunken sailor and finishing 8th yet when the shoe is on the other foot you here nothing but excuse after excuse.

No one is disputing Kean wasnt a good signing - we are disputing that making a 19 year old kid from abroad our main striker without good enough back up to rotate was a sound recruitment policy when imo it isn't when your back ups are DCL or Tosun.

You either do the following:

A. Sign 1 ready made striker like Haller/Belotti etc.

B. Sign 2 strikers - one of the above and the other Kean.

We opted to sign Kean for his potential therefore you need to bring in someone to help ease him in to English football whilst also making us as competitive on the pitch as possible.

If Leicester or West Ham break the top 6 this season and we dont it'll be a travesty and one that will ultimately come down to they have Haller & Vardy whilst we have a kid still learning his trade & 2 bums (not including Niasse as he's less likely to get on the pitch than I am).

We signed him for now, too. He's now our starter. If we signed Haller or a more established player, we don't get Kean. He wanted playing time. We also can't bring in Iwobi or one of the other players we brought in.

One guy was 50M. We have more needs than just CF.

You do know that we scored more goals than Super Vardy FC last season even with DCL up top?

Right?

Every single post you make is without sense or reason.
