Nope mate. In the eyes of the football data lords they are seen as an indicator of poor defending ie the player is out of position and is having to make a last ditch attempt to stop the danger progressing. Defenders are seen as being quite hard to put into stat form, I have seen a few data people saying a better way is to do it with interceptions/clearances/progressive passes as being a good defender is ultimately about reading the game, intercepting the ball and clearing the danger. I'm not saying this is right or anything but that's how a lot of the stat guys view it.

If only Patto had a quarter of the defensive acumen as David Weir, Richard Gough or other fantastic former Rangers players. All of whom I loved and supported (obviously Gascoigne apart)
