It tells you all you need to know about where Patterson stands at this club.I'm sure his manager preferring 38 year old Ashley Young ahead of him in his position is doing wonders for his confidence..

If he could play football...I'm sure his manager preferring 38 year old Ashley Young ahead of him in his position is doing wonders for his confidence..

Reflects reality I'm afraid.
Patterson is terrible and he prefers a veteran to stand in while we get Coleman back.
There can be no grumbles on his part. He's had 2 years to get some form and has failed.
I think Ashley Young was lucky today that he wasn’t up against a good attacking left back. He was up against Aaron Hickey who normally plays as a right back. But there’s a post from me earlier on this thread saying that I think Hickey isn’t so effective offensively. And the midfield seemed better organised and more disciplined today which in my opinion was the major problem in many of the goals conceded. Patterson is a better full back than Young.First game he has got a clean sheet for us.

It’s just a matter of time before Young gets torn to pieces down the right. In the exact position I where I like to see him: on the bench.

Let's be honest, the exact same thing has been happening to Patterson all season too. I really like the kid and want him to succeed but nobody can deny he's been a liability this season, he's not been helped by the lack of cover in front of him and the formations used, but that's how Dyche wants to play and if he's not shaping up to the task he needs to sit on the bench like any other player performing poorly. It’s just a matter of time before Young gets torn to pieces down the right.
