New Everton Stadium

I hope it is 60,000 or thereabouts.

And if there only 55, 000 showing up, the 5000 or 7000 will barely be noticeable.

A big club has a big stadium.

I realize part of the debate centres around likely demand for tickets and the investment costs of a
60k stadium but just say that Moshiri' s investments on the field pay off and EFC wins a league or two.

Would it not be stupid to be regretting in 10-15 years time the fact that fans are being locked out because
the stadium holds only 52K?

A smaller stadium would be the Kenright way - manage the decline of what was the biggest club in the country -
but a 60K+ stadium would be the new, ambitious, successful Everton. The stadium is going to reflect the club's
intentions for the next two generations and those ambitions have to be optimistic.

Maybe it's an american perspective, but those empty seats would DEFINITELY be noticable and a big deal. Seems to me there is a HUGE difference in atmosphere, which to me is the most important thing - it's what brings more random folks back, what makes it a true experience beyond just a soccer match in a big place. It's what makes it different that watching on your TV at home. Hard to quantify what that atmoshpere is worth in terms of keeping people in and around the stadium before and after (and spending money), but if it builds a stronger sense of community and makes folks - even new, random tourists, whatever - want to stick around and buy an extra round of beers or two, maybe it's worth it?

The only thing keeping me from jacking this club in at times is the hope that one day this beautiful blue stadium will attract us the type of ownership that can spend money on the best players and have us challenging for trophies and actually beating the RS in derby matches.

Sick of the constant disappointment and let downs it brings.

It's all part of being a blue, if you were in it for the glory you would be a city fan. Keep the faith as it's the hope that will kill ya:hayee:
