After yesterday's disappointment I had the misfortune of a WhatsApp conversation with my red uncle. He's okay really but still a red. He is adamant that Everton do not have the money to build the stadium. He knows this because he lives in the city (I haven't for nearly 30 years) but he is convinced and has heard on the city grapevine that it will never happen. The consultation, the architect, the L4 legacy - all a sham and people locally know it won't happen. The current improvements for the road infrastructure are just for the new ferry terminal - not BMD. Liverpool Waters is real but not BMD, he says. He seems so certain and says it is all a pipe dream. I hope the Mosh can prove him wrong and I have a feeling those designs, despite the painfully long wait, will be worth it.

TBH mate your uncle sounds worried like most RS desperate for stadium to fall through (loads on here live in the city and we all know next to nothing) we have to put our hopes in moshiri to come through .After yesterday's disappointment I had the misfortune of a WhatsApp conversation with my red uncle. Damn, I just wrote Dan meis off on twitter too...Stopped at 'red uncle'.
No further witnesses your honour.
Yeah - well that is reassuring when you are not living locally. He just seemed so sure - even with a billionaire at the helm,we cant afford it. Even with us now buying players regularly in the 40-50mill bracket, we cant afford it. I did my best to keep my counsel but after such a gut wrenching defeat that I am still struggling to come to terms with, it was not easy.TBH mate your uncle sounds worried like most RS desperate for stadium to fall through (loads on here live in the city and we all know next to nothing) we have to put our hopes in moshiri to come through .
Yep but 1-0 or 6-0 they still won. Our performance was so encouraging and we looked like a proper team, but against the money clubs we have still only take 1 point from a possible 12. Not good enough to threaten them yet but I think we are not far away. The same idiot Reds who thought they were gonna smash us yesterday.
Deluded beauts no sweet FA about Everton.

Everton seem to have kept this whole plan under wraps pretty well - incredible really how little they have revealed until they were ready. Reading through the consultation web site, the plans look real to me - well thought out and properly planned plus reiterating Everton's commitment to embracing the past whilst looking to the future. If it happens he will be gutted as will so many other of those horrible spoilt reds. I'll keep my powder dry until there are diggers at the dock.

To be honest mate, no average Joe in the city knows a thing, Moshiri seems to keep his buisness tight, just like when he bought the Liver building, no one knew it was coming, it was just done
Your uncle isn't a taxi driver is he because they often talk absolute crap and pass it off as fact[/QUOTE
He's not no but he is generally a more balanced red than most ( in know that is hard to believe) so I was surprised at how certain he seemed. Didn't acknowledge any of the current work and consultation being done. Guess I was just feeling so bloody low last night that it seemed like once again any hope of Everton rising again via the new stadium and moshiri/usmanov's billions might be false hope just like going into yesterday's big match. Got to stay positive - in a few days I'll be right as rain especially if we spank that small club from Geordie land.

Like most RS, they live in a deluded bubble. If they keep telling themselves something, it will come true. They are all terrified it will happen, so they dismiss it out of hand and try to convince themselves and others it wont happen.
Some Everton fans are convinced it won't happen because, well, Everton, and we do have a history of these things falling through. So many are rightfully cautious about it. Some are downright negative that it won't, but I guess this is more or less the opposite of what Liverpool fans are doing. Fearing the worst, almost daring us not to.
The fact is, whether it does or not, and nothing is ever 100%, non of these people he allegedly talks to know anything either. They are either the bitterest of reds, dreading it will, or the pessimistic blues believing it won't.
But the only people who do know, will be trying everything they can to make sure it does, because it will a massive game changer, and opportunities like this don't come around all that often.
Put it this way, I'd put my money on this happening before we ever get one over them at the Pit.
