New Everton Stadium

however I feel that if the stadium designs are not to everyones taste then a large part of the stadium itself will be a dissapointment

Atleast with 55k+ if the design is a bit "out there" the stadium would still largely tick boxes in most fans eyes.

If you say so. Not sure why 3000 extra seats would swing it from being a disappointment to ticking boxes for most fans.

An extra 3k isn't that much of a difference, im sure the announcement of possible expansion means the new stadium will have the infrastructure in place to expand without having to demolish.

The point being is there is supposed to be 4k extra in premium/hospitality. So we are getting around an 8k increase for GA but we supposedly have over 10k on the waiting list now. This is before you get any of the new stadium bounce. Doesn't seem like we are aiming to be the best we can be, which as you probably know is supposed to be our motto!

Think mid fiftys were the minimum expectations in most fans eyes so less than this is obviously a dissapointment.

I think if it was being built for next season I wouldnt be as fussed but with it being 4-5 years away it sort of says forget any chance of us becoming a force in the meanwhile as we aint planning for any large demand for a good while.

Surely it's not cost effective to expand at a later date? (Unless they're banking on standing going ahead...)

- Record 31,282 Season Ticket holders
- Every home seat sold for every Premier League match in the 2017/18 season.
- "Season Tickets reached the cap with more than 10,000 on a waiting list"

This, under Koeman/Allardyce...

Anything under 58/60k undersells.

By the time the stadium is built, we'd be about 9th in the league for capacity.

We need to be more ambitious.

I'm happy. Finally seeing some movement from the club now, and tied in with some of the improvements being made to the area, feel this is very much on now. 52k is fine. We don't have a 10k waiting list for tickets, I have mates who registered in June and still got their season tickets for this year. Just make it look boss now Mr. Meis.

I honestly do not see the correlation with Big Ground Now = Becoming a Force.

People seen determined to undersell our support.

We sell out every home league game. And that includes a stack of dreadful seats. People can't get season tickets. And we've been absolutely rubbish during this period too.

52k is not big enough for an above average sized premier league side. The demand is obviously there. The caution is unfortunately still there too. I'd hoped wed make a grand statement with the stadium but all we've got is a cautious scaled back project which we are being encouraged to accept as anything bigger would be too hard to deliver.

I'm a bit disappointed. But not surprised. We have an inferiority complex at all levels of the club and we really shouldn't. Because we're Everton.

I think Meis has mentioned that he's keeping the re-introduction of standing in mind while designing the stadium

Yeah, how disappointing, an iconic city centre venue on the docks with potential to be surrounded by hotels, cafes and bars instead of being stuck next to a prefabricated supermarket. lol
NO COMPARISON

The point being the club considered 50,400 suitable in 2007.

1,600 seats more over 10 years later.

There's something to that. I'll leave it to @davek
