New Everton Stadium

There is no chance that a Tory government trying to keep their 'Northern wall' will stop this development, there was no chance pre-Covid politically, and now there is no chance both economically and politically.

This is what Gov/t would want after the pandemic, big investment, jobs now and for the future, enhance the area for more dev/t, drive the economy of and area that needs it.

Took a few pics yesterday.

Very bad 1s.

Pretty disgraceful this from heritage England. A massive investment in a deprived run down area for an empty dock. What do they want to do. Just leave it as it is. This must be what Colin Chong was on about in his email this week when he said

""However, at some point in the coming weeks, you may become aware of objections to our proposed scheme being made to Liverpool City Council by Historic England and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), a heritage body acting on behalf of UNESCO"

So they must have had prior knowledge of it so should be dealing with it. We knew UNESCO would object to it.
But Anderson has said in the past they are not worried if they lose UNESCO status if it limits regeneration of the area.
Up to the council to approve these plans asap now

Is it just me that thinks that using the docks that shaped the city for decades are a suitable place to continue shaping it?
The ironic thing is, in order for them to ever to be functional docks again, it would have to be totally destroyed and rebuilt. There is a reason why they've become derelict

I really don't understand thier objections. Especially since we're preserving the dock

Who decides if it gets called in though?

If LCC grant permission and the club have taken all the correct measures then surely its tough titty for the heritage moaners?

I'm not sure who in Government makes decisions like that, maybe the secretary of state?

Everton have done everything possible to appease these heritage people but these freaks have to justify their existence somehow.

There will be a Planning Directorate in MHCLG, that may or may not recommend to Ministers that it is called in, who will then make the decision.
