That is something that applies to Judaism as well as Islam. A few religions actually. To me, that's just a common sense facility to enable access to the higher education system for the talented minorities who would otherwise be excluded from advancement in our society.

There's nothing rational about a phobia. If you are weighted towards Islam even if the same concept without the word sharia wouldn't bother you as much, then that's irrational, as you are somehow believing that a Sharia-compliant student loan system will somehow lead to ritualistic female genital mutilation being widespread in the UK.
