Yes, because smoke bombs and hundreds of people storming the pitch can be physically dangerous. Can't believe you even said that.

What?

So you’re telling me, that the Premier League, and the EFL who are investing millions in supporting kick it out, rainbow laces etc, haven’t got their priorities right?

There have been 3 pitch invasions, meanwhile discrimination happens at every single game.

I’ve not justified invading the pitch, I have questioned the Premier League’s stance though.

Believe I said it, because it’s actually not that crazy.

I mean, at the end of the day, who hasn;t been on the pitch? The vast majority will have at some time or other.

This is an insult to everyone: demonising people who built each club up as terrorising football.

They really need a good slapping that lot.

Football clubs and the FA and League have always been pin striped thugs. They stuck up fences once upoin a time for this and ended up killing near a hundred in one place and I'm sure there's been other instances in the 2 decades they were up where someone was killed or badly injured.

They are utter vermin.

They have to get priorities right. They need to throw the full weight of the law to these celebrating fans who get on the pitch for surviving relegation/wining the league/getting promotion/winning an important game and also the kids who get on the pitch harrassing the players for a shirt.

There's no need to worry about hooligans in other countries. Fans that storm in past barriers and stewards without tickets. Or a swathe of countries where they
insult everyone who are not like them such as racism and homophobia and sexism. Certainly no need to worry about (alleged) corruption in the game from refs to UEFA and FIFA. No need worry about the extraction of money from the game through huge wages, overpaid players and directors and huge sums to player agents. Nothing corrupt. Nothing to see there.

It’s the 2023/2024 season

Everton just beat Liverpool at goodison park in the final game of the season to win the league after Tom Davies bagged the winner with a 90th minute half volley from the half way line

The final whistle goes, 40,000 fans invade the pitch. Smoke bombs and fireworks are set off all over the ground

Everton start the 2024/2025 season at their new Bramley Moore Stadium with no fans

I'd take that all day long

It's typical Premier League fare, punish the fans but don't upset the cash cows (the clubs). I note that they say that there will be 'tougher sanctions for the clubs' but don't actually say what these are. It's just 'sabre rattling'. If they truly wanted to stop it, they would deduct points from the clubs involved. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that this should happen (in practice, how can a club stop an individual/group of individuals from running on the pitch - other than to erect fences, and we all know where that can lead) but don't say s**t when you have no intention of doing it!!

I ran on the pitch and asked Jimmy O Neill for his autograph. He told me to get off the f..k.ng pitch. I never tried again.
