Looks like Monchi has done a complete u turn and is now staying in Seville. Possibly more to run with this if Emery goes to PSG he may reconsider ?

It's gonna be Moyes isn't it?

Depends on how the new manager wants to work. If it's Koeman then a DoF makes sense. If it's someone who doesn't want one then don't force it on them
Any new manager most likely wouldn't have had a choice moshiri clearly has a clear defined plan for the structure of the club & director of football was muted even if mourinho took charge.

I'd prefer it if they didn't get one. Best let the manager have control over signings.
The DoF role is far more than this when done properly. It seems to have a negative connotation around PL managers not able to work with one because they somehow have players forced on them. It doesn't , or shouldn't , work like this . If we can get a top DoF then it will be the final piece in the jigsaw for the structure of our club, putting everything in place from majority shareholder, DoF, Manager, coaches, Academy director , academy coaches etc. Very few managers create a legacy that extends once they've gone , DoF s have the opportunity to shape our structure for years to come .

Here in America a general manager is common place in the NFL and works very well. For instance look what John Elway was capable of doing for the Broncos. A GM or DoF would would side by side with a manager. In the NFL teams have tried giving managers the full control and it rarely works out well. I like the idea of a DoF

"Monchi au PSG ne seraient plus qu’une question d’heures."
According to some in the French media it's only a matter of hours before Monchi and Emmery are at PSG. He's not coming to us unfortunately but perhaps he wouldn't have had a good relationship with the spiky RK anyway. I expect Overmars name to be back in the frame strongly now given the Dutch flavour at the club.

Anyway, whilst Monchi would be my first choice, Moyes wouldn't be a bad DOF if you could get past the ego.
