Possible Goodison redevelopment.

Perhaps. But you have to look a bit closer.

Would the football world, not just Evertonians, like a special piece of history to be kept? I think there's more architectural value in saving the Bullens, it's not just a brick and iron building from the 1920's. Having said that - that alone should be a reason to preserve it. A football stand from the 1920's.
There's many features inside and of course the Archibald Leitch criss cross.

I think the value in the Bullens is the terracing and not the outer shell if you like. If you hollow it out to build apartments etc. you may as well start a fresh.

I'm glad some are on board with the idea. Although the more I think about it I reckon the Bullens Road stand should be preserved. Obviously not as a football stand for the Women's but as a piece of football history and architecture. Turn it in to a hotel or flats. Or both.

Well if it isn't saved, we'll regret it.

I do like this idea:

However I don't believe the investment to build this would ever be able to paid back through a sustainable business. Sure people may come the first few years but would it be busy all year round after the novelty wears off in that part of Liverpool, especially as we lay down roots at BM?

it’s simply too old to convert to a multi use entertainment venue. any renovation to that end would destroy the historical integrity the same as tearing it down.

Leaving the stands up becomes a maintenance cost and safety concern for the public.

I’d incorporate it with the EITC project and let it serve the community. Turn some portion of it into a museum and the remainder into a park. Let EITC lease it as a small event venue with the proceeds going back into the community.

This looks great, but I have to agree, the numbers wouldn't stack up for our owners to do such a thing. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

What’s the point of playing womens games there with a world class stadium down the road? Not seeing it.
You`d not want them playing all their games at BMD because the pitch surface would be terrible for the second half of the season.

I like the idea of keeping the site as a football ground that the ladies can make their own. The ladies game is growing and getting a lot of coverage, and it would be nice if our ladies team could progress and grab some silverware. There might be some thinking that the original proposals for Goodison were not going to raise a whole lot of cash for the club, and WHP will need a bit of investment as the ladies game grows. Might be thinking why invest in WHP which is further away from town and doesn`t have too much of a connection with the club, why not keep Goodison where we can redevelop as a 10k stadium for the ladies home, and maybe through the fact that Goodison is such a part of our clubs history, they might get folks going to a game on a weekend like today when there`s no 1st team game because its a chance to go to Goodison, it would give lads a chance to relive memories of going the game as we all have known till now.

Keep the Park end and rebuild the other 3 sides in the style of the original Leich design features.

We are all familiar with the Bullens road which was a feature, but the old main stand had the inverted gable with the club name and several of the grounds he designed had a very nicely designed exterior, which made his designs stand out and last so long. The main stand at Ibrox and the exterior at highbury and the Holte end at Villa are the best examples, and he wanted football grounds to have a bit of character rather than just look like a collection of cattle barns.

Ooooph not sure about that.

IMO IF Goodison was redeveloped for the Women's team then you're going to have to flatten Goodison as it is. The MS is pretty big replacing it with a small stand not much wider than the Enclosure will leave plenty of land on Goodison Road for development for the community. I don't think the PE stand is of sufficient quality to keep I think it's too big anyway for a modern Women's ground.

Having said that, I would love the Bullens Road stand to be preserved because of what it is. I don't think it would be a practical stand for a modern Women's stadium but saving it and converting it some how would be amazing. It would be a challenge and wouldn't be cheap I'm sure.

Why can't the pitch be the local park to kick the ball around. Have cafes, local businesses and community stuff surrounding it, and residential on the back side.
A place for locals to play 'street football', like proper like. With the hope that Goodison park will keep on creating, keep on producing players, that will end up down the way at Bramley. A true legacy.

….can’t see the club keeping an old stadium with significant maintenance costs.

Take the statue’s and sell the plot.
Are the statues staying ? I got told by my older brother they were?

The cost of transporting Dixies would cost a fortune - personally I think they should go to BMD !
