Referees v Everton

This season: Liverpool haven’t conceded a penalty so far. Lowest in the league.

2020/21: in a record-high season for penalties awarded, Liverpool gave away 8 penalties. More importantly, Liverpool were out of the title race early in the season.

2019/20: Liverpool gave away 1 penalty. League lowest.

2018/19: Liverpool gave away 1 penalty. League lowest.

Hmm. No big team bias for a club fighting for a league title, eh. Outside of one freak season when VAR went mad, they’ve given away 2 penalties in near 3 seasons. Wow.

Last season they were cycling off. Hence they were slower to everything and more pens had to be given.

They’re drug cheats with the refs and media in their pocket but then bang on to anyone who will listen about how they’re saving football.

Carry on with the insults you ignorant cu.nt.

So do you think/ should be ,that is a pen or not ?
No I don't think it is Gordon has tried to be cute and goes across Matip and then slows down and waits for the contact. I would love someone to explain how they go from being side to side to contact between both players right foot.

Gordon is quicker? Its not against the rules to cut inside a following defender. As he did, he was held, then his foot stamped on. I reckon the latter was accidental, cos like you allude to, he was where the defender didnt think he would be.

Was a pen. Wasnt even reviewed. At the other end, different gravy.

We must be smoking some good stuff then because we have the slowest defenders in the League, have spent most of the season fighting relegation but have conceded only 1 penalty.

You do know defenders have got to get near the forward to concede a penalty?

Also, we have had an absolute ton of red cards this season. Some completely ridiculous decisions, some through utter stupidity. It's not all about penalties remember....

Also, you didn't answer if you thought the Gordon one yesterday or the Rodri handball were penalties.

It was reviewed.

It was reviewed.

Really? Like the hours they spend over a marginal offside?

From what I heard, then saw, there was no stop in play waiting for VAR to decide Yay or Nay. Was instant. And since 24 hours later, pundits, media, etc, are still debating Yay or Nay, that suggests to me there was no review. With no agenda anyrate.

But its gone. The club has (again) asked for an explanation. Last time that happened, the refs said "Soz like" (The City pen). Will be interesting what they do this time.

When Souness even admitted this we can see that this is rotten
