Referees v Everton

The Premier League want to keep it interesting by not letting one team run away with the league (ie) Bayern Munich etc etc......so the referees have been told this....Whoever is in the top two or three after Christmas get looked after by the referees on orders from above!
That's my theory anyway!

VAR review: A lot of people may feel this should have been a penalty to Everton, and there is no doubt it wouldn't have been overturned had Attwell pointed to the spot. Which of course brings us, once again, to the high threshold in the Premier League.

We've seen many incidents like this across the season, and it's not too dissimilar to the first incident between Elanga and Tavares in the Arsenal vs. Man United game.

There isn't definitive evidence in the replays of a clear foul by Matip, even with the arm on the shoulder, which is why the VAR chose not to advise a pitchside review for a penalty. It does appear to be consistent with other such VAR decisions.

Given moments earlier they were shoulder to shoulder how did the contact between both players right foot come about ?

Did Matip initiate contact by going across Gordon. Or did Gordon initiate contact by going across Matip ?

As soon as you answer that. Then it is clear why it is not a penalty.
Jesus wept, he stands on his foot to bring him down, what more do you need?

It's clear to me that Gordon, from his position in front of Matip, was deliberately trying to position his foot under Matips and push it up off the floor, ramming his metatarsals into the delicate studs on Matips boot.

Similar to that time when Distin attacked Suarez studs with his achilles.

Imagine supporting a team who are challenging for a title and have just beaten another team two nil and still feeling the need to come onto the opposing teams mesageboard and argue why said other team shouldn’t have had a penalty against them.

What is wrong with you man,l? That isn’t normal.

We made the refs officially apologise for a previous mistake; from that moment on, we were dead in the water. We had publicly embarrassed them, and the club would be made to pay. "Penalty??...What penalty? I didn't see anything."
Was that the end of that then? They apologised over looking at a blatant handball.for 5 mins to.deem it not a pen. And it's saaawy.. and that's it?

They better atleast say sorry again of we get relegated by a point.

Mate if we get relegated it will be mostly down to the muppets on the field - however we have lost invaluable points due to terrible refereeing.

Or the time when the evil Ivanović forced his shoulder into the mouth of Suarez and forced the poor, innocent Uruguayan to bite him.
