Referees v Everton

They have a far better team at the moment. Silly to suggest otherwise. Our team is absolute bobbins.
"silly" to suggest otherwise no mate they've had a good little run that's all, they'll get better if they spend more wisely than us but at the moment there's nothing between us, in fact we have better players that were horrendously mismanaged by a dirty kopite rat. Can people not have such extreme views all the time.

I don’t think you’ll find a worse decision in the entirety of football.

Obviously they has been poor decisions prior to the implementation of VAR; but to have a third person look at it and determine it’s not handball is just laughable.

If we stay up, I’d love the club to call a press conference and highlight all the inconsistencies and draw attention to it.

Im pretty sure that other clubs outdside the sky 6 have “dubious” decisions as well; it needs to be rammed home weekly, in the media until change is brought about.

It was the same with silva, the decisions that went against him cost him about 12 points. The Michael Keane penalty at Brighton still stands out

That one still rankles with me, two players looking at the ball and one accidentally steps on the others foot. Nonsense.

The media reaction to this game has been nothing short of laughable. We have actual pundits and referees claiming that grapple on Richarlison wasn't a foul. People are saying these things with a straight face.

Spurs got a VAR overturn yesterday for the most ridiculous handball you'll see. Yet we don't get one for someone having their shirt ripped off. And all the media seem to care about is Lampard getting a fine. If they charge Lampard again then we need to employ the best lawyers in the country and get the FA and PGMOL taken to the cleaners in court.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but the evidence suggests that the media and the referees want us to go down. We've not been good enough, but the level of officiating in our games this season has been so bad that it's becoming difficult to put it just down to incompetence. If it's just incompetence then it's frightening how poor they have been and in the era with video replays.

It doesn't feel right at all. I feel sick to my stomach today.
it's not incompetence...it's outright venal corruption

I actually don't mind pundits being biased, it's only human nature really, just up the representation a bit. As long as they get pulled up for saying something stupid that's fine.

The bigger issue for me is the nameless propagandists. The hosts or commentators who nobody really cares about who spew the big club bile all the time but hide behind a mask of neutrality. Newspapers are rife with this too.
That’s it for me, just be honest about it all.

Get Osman on as well if you’re going to have Carragher doing Co-comms like the Glasgow derby.

We’ve had some horrendous calls this season. The worst for me was that City handball. Still fuming.

However, we would be safe if these players had managed to beat any of Norwich, Watford, Leeds or Burnley away. Games we had 3 penalties in.
If we go down, the real villains have been wearing blue all along.

I mean that’s without a doubt the worst call I’ve ever seen, VAR literally checked a hall hitting and being controlled by an outstretched arm in the box and gave nothing

Agree...if he wanted Everton relegated, as if he'd tell some p*ssed up Geordies.

Why would the premier league want rid of us for wanting to save their competition? They should be siding with us if anything!
well they essentially admitted the super league 6 were the cash cow and were happy for them to have a large say in their own punishment
They obviously believe we weren't saving their competition, but were upsetting the big fish that make the pond. Basically propping them up further

The Athletic have done an article today about all the woeful decisions against us.

Nearly all the comments below it are from deluded reds. What a strange bunch they are.

And anyone who doesn't agree we've had poor decisions is clueless
And yet the same reds will celebrate any time they have Michael Oliver as ref in a big match because they know he's biased toward them.
The only one they agree with is probably the pen against city which the media are on about aswell as being the most important, but not to us it isn't

Well said!

Everton being poor does not mitigate against those decisions being shockingly bad, so no I don't agree. Separate issues
