Have you ever done the lowther run?
I haven’t, but it’s on my list of races to do.
With it being in August, it’s hard to get away for 24hrs with the kids being off on holiday.

Big day on Sunday for me, Moray Marathon in Elgin Scotland. I gave London a miss this year in favour of supporting this local marathon which has been restarted by some running friends. I’ve got over most of the “ maranoia” and am now stuffing myself with carbs. Thankfully I’ll be finished by the time Everton kick off , so no distractions!
It stopped about 8 years ago after they changed the route and the lead car took the runners the wrong way. It’s back to close to the original route now , which is quite scenic but can be windyScotlands oldest if I’m not mistaken ?
Hiya coybl25 hope you are well tonight.Scotlands oldest if I’m not mistaken ?
Good luck BL. A combination of marathons in my 20s and playing ping pong has wrecked my Achilles. Most in can manage now is a very slow 5kBig day on Sunday for me, Moray Marathon in Elgin Scotland. I agree with you there mate.Cheers carlos, not this time mate , I raised money for charity at last years London marathon , can’t keep asking the same people
Cheers mate. I’ve done about a dozen marathons, it’s a serious challenge but worth thinking about. I’m now a V70 so my best time was 40 years ago, but yeah my head is still competitive. I’m aiming for 4hrs 30 min. Sub 4 hours 55 min gets me into next years London if I want to with a Good For Age entry , so that’s a back stop . 4.5 hrs is a good challenge and with a good run it could be faster but you never know with marathons.!Good luck for Sunday blueloon.
I've never done a marathon before. I keep thinking about it then nerves about not finishing kick in.
Do you have a time your aiming to finish in or is it more about enjoying the day and getting over the line?
