Why where they fuming, it’s been raining for solid for two weeks, what did they expect ???
because one of the organisers was walking around telling everyone it was 'dry as a bone' lol

my mate, who i ran with, works with him and he said 'do not trust a word he says' straight after he told us it was dry lol

So, despite there being floods everywhere and it raining for weeks, they believed some fella that they don`t know about the ground being dry and then fumed about it lol

They`d fit right in, on the matchday threads on here !

Big day on Sunday for me, Moray Marathon in Elgin Scotland. I gave London a miss this year in favour of supporting this local marathon which has been restarted by some running friends. I’ve got over most of the “ maranoia” and am now stuffing myself with carbs. Thankfully I’ll be finished by the time Everton kick off , so no distractions!

Good luck BL. A combination of marathons in my 20s and playing ping pong has wrecked my Achilles. Most in can manage now is a very slow 5k

Good luck for Sunday blueloon.
I've never done a marathon before. I keep thinking about it then nerves about not finishing kick in.
Do you have a time your aiming to finish in or is it more about enjoying the day and getting over the line?

Cheers mate. I’ve done about a dozen marathons, it’s a serious challenge but worth thinking about. I’m now a V70 so my best time was 40 years ago, but yeah my head is still competitive. I’m aiming for 4hrs 30 min. Sub 4 hours 55 min gets me into next years London if I want to with a Good For Age entry , so that’s a back stop . 4.5 hrs is a good challenge and with a good run it could be faster but you never know with marathons.!
