I just feel the Brighton and crystal palace games were clear opportunities to gain 6 points I thought we were doing well in keeping brighton nullified but dyche should of took that 10 man brighton development and used it to our advantage instead we just hunkered down further. I get why we setup defensively but you can't do it the entire game otherwise the opposing team is likely to score. Even the city game we looked good for 70 minutes but eventually if you make it too comfortable for teams to make attack after attack no matter how many players dyche has camped in our box we're going to concede if we don't put some pressure on the opposition

Exactly. The concentration levels to spend every game focused on defending and countering need to be spot on as if a team is under that much pressure and sustaining attack after attack, they are going to concede a huge percentage of times. Only takes one person to switch off.

And we didn't make any serious attacking forays on brighton when they had ten men so the man advantage was irrelevant because we weren't even trying to stretch tthe mandatory they could just bombard us with attacks

Playing devils advocate here but if he tried to go for another goal and they scored he'd have got slaughtered for not closing the game down. Its very easy after the game to be the perfect manager. Truth is we're more likely not to concede goals than score them.

When it’s late into a game 10 men v 11 means nothing and is no advantage, id the team with 11 is only interested in booting it long and basically giving it straight back to the 10 men. It’s like a number of people have mentioned. Dyche plays football like rugby. Basically playing for territory

We did equalise against spurs when we had 10 men last season tbf. I do realise the current flavour of the month wasn't managing them though.

Yes a 30 yard worldie from a CB. And it was 10 v 10 when we scored as spurs also had a player sent off a few minutes before we scored

True enough, but worldies still count. The point is that we equalised late on when we were up against it, and not for the first time.

Yes but this is totally different. We had the 11 men and a goal lead. Why do so many fans make excuses for dyche. It’s bizarre. And that was a defensive conte spurs, yes he’d left but I think his assistant was in charge . Different team to Brighton

TBH there’s not much point moaning about Dyche. We’ve gone through too many managers recently (certainly hasn’t helped our cash flow when the FSW took £8.5m as a pay off) and we need to back him fully because he’s the best we can get for our predicament
Plus, he can issue instructions until he’s blue in the face but if the players don’t act on them, there not much he can do so late in a game

I've not read the entire thread, so I've not seen 'excuses'. I've seen lots of people criticise his subs and his selections, probably fairly on many occasions.
I've seen people say he's the man for where we are now as a club, based on the fact that we're doing well in terms of points on the board compared to previous seasons.
I've also seen fellas who fail to recognise the good job he is doing, because they don't like his football style.
Should we have held out against Brighton? Probably.
Given where we were last season, are we doing better than most of us expected? Probably.
Is he doing on overall good job considering the squad he inherited? Probably.
It's just opinions at the end of the day.
