Imagine a world were football fans are making excuses based on almosts

Sure we used to take the piss out of the RS for their alternative leagues. I guess the threshold has been crossed
Whos making excuses? I thought this was a forum to discuss if Dyche will succeed by week 38.

Weird one this tbh. I have never seen an Everton manager actually blame the past two years for a bad footballing performance on any particular day really.

It is a terrible outlook... it makes it okay if we don't turn up in certain games, okay if the referee does not make fair decisions on any day (so that it balances out later?), and okay if most of the grief is carried by the fans for being 30 odd minutes away from relegation only for some folks to go "told ya we'd be safe".

Let’s get Ancelotti or some other all-time great manager in then, if it’s that easy.

We can only attract lower rate managers because we’re Bill Kenwright FC - a mediocre Club that has no idea what success is and is constantly circling the drain.

It’s going to take time to chip away at resolving and recovering from this mess, at which point we’ll hopefully be able to attract a higher calibre of Manager.

It’s not like I want us to have less-regarded Managers at Everton, it’s an acceptance of the reality we find ourselves in.
Mate

You dont need to be an all time great to get this lot to 14th
Potter, Lopetgui, Hassenhutl, Galtier, Favre etc etc would do that with ease

@Lobworm missing the point 101.

We should've been safer earlier last year if Dyche was a good manager, he's not.

He should be getting more out of this team, he's not.

He's a poor manager both ingame and tactically.

He will take us to relegation safely and soundly if he doesn't change his ways. Hope he does, doubt it. So it goes.

That Brighton game covered a hell of a lot of cracks!
If we take that game out we would of won 1 of our last 10 of last season (bournemouth).....and you can argue a game of that magnitude is more down to the situation than any managerial accumen!
Dyche as it stands has 2 wins in his last 14 (Brighton & Bournemouth)

Just for context.....Lampard got 3 wins in his last 14 games and got sacked

The thing is we had 5 shots on target c Brighton. And they created a lot of good chances early in the 2nd half. 1 or 2 go in and that could have easily been a different game. That was a one off fluke.

Could play what if about every game. Can’t just take the wins and explain them away as flukes but then claim all the losses are deserved.

If Keane’s goal had been allowed and the ball not ricocheted onto Pickford we could be sat here with points now. We’re not though, people seem to be revelling in that reality so they have to accept the Brighton win as well, much as it pains them to see their favourite team being beaten so heavily.

We stayed up because Leeds and Leicester collapsed and made horrendous managerial decisions (plus Sothampton).

Gary O'Neil turned around a Bournemouth side who were Sheff United/Luton-esque relegation fodder when he took over and were safe with several games to spare which was a good job as they could ease off late in the season. Lopetegui took over Wolves bottom of the league and got them well clear. Palace were in freefall when Hodgson took over and they finished comfortably mid table.

Dyche did his job, he kept Everton up, but Mike Walker led a last day escape at Goodison as well.

I don’t give a monkeys about Brighton.

We’ve won about 3 away games in 2 yrs, to beat a top 6/7 team who are going for Europe 5-1 is a rare occurrence/fluke/ against the norm. Call it what you want, that’s what it was.

When was the last time we did that?
