Slowly but surely Dyche is getting the team turned around. He can only work with what's got and so he gets credit from me. After flirting with relegation for the last few years I'd be happy to have a lot less drama this year. The top teams are miles ahead of us BUT if we can be a solid mid table side this season and then push higher when we're in our beautiful new stadium.

Anything above 14th would be significant progress.

With a win it doesn't feel as concerning, but it's an area teams have targeted this season (Villa 4-0 being the worst case for it).

It worries me that there's been no improvement in our weakest area and that we rely on good individual performances from the centre backs and Pickford than a concrete plan.
No improvement? There's been a lot of improvement at LB. RB is an issue but Patterson did well today.

Ultimately they’ve got a far better squad than us in most positions but especially in attack. They’ve scored in every game they’ve played. Any game plan that gets us 3 points on their own patch is the right one.

Bowen Paqueta Benhrama Fornals Kudus all walk into our team. Ings and Antonio probably make the squad as well. They are a far better team than we are and we did a job on them.

Yes Mykolenko and Patterson have gotten back into form individually, but the way they are instructed to play means we still concede shots and crosses into the box in that area too often.

….Doucoure was poor today but having somebody who gets ahead of the striker one minute and then blocks a shot on the edge of the box is a plus for the manager and his teammates. He must be a nuisance to play against, if he was consistently good in possession he wouldn’t be at Everton. Certainly not pretty but certainly effective.
Yep Doucoure’s real value for us is off the ball. His athleticism creates space going forward and helps out in other areas….it’s just frustrating about his ability with the ball!!

I was screaming for sub like everyone else but looking at the bench can see why he was slow to make them.

…I wasn’t thinking too much about substitutions.

Full-back/Winger partnerships are well set, players have worked out who picks which opponent up. It carries risk to change something that’s working. I did think Beto or even Danjuma could’ve been more effective than Chermiti, especially with Cresswell off and Zouma pushing forward. Maybe Gueye could’ve replaced Doucoure.

Thought much the same but fresh legs would have been useful if he could trust the players.

My last memory of Bill Kenwright was when he was collared in the car park at West Ham United by a reporter asking him if he was about to remove Frank Lampard as manager. That was our most recent visit to the London Stadium, as recently as January. That team was the worst I have ever seen in Everton blue - capable of losing to just about anyone. Over the previous month, embarrassing late defeats at home to Wolves and Southampton sandwiched a capitulation to Brighton (though we did earn a freak point at City thanks to a similarly freakish goal and some decent stubbornness). But we should remember quite how feeble we were only 9 months ago. Today, we have gone to West Ham and done a number on them. We've beaten Bournemouth and Brentford this season as well. Yes, we have embarrassed ourselves at home to Luton, but there's a threat in this side now that was not there in late 2022.

There is no doubt a significant improvement - and this has happened in incredibly trying circumstances. We will have many more difficult days, but I no longer feel the side is a hopeless cause. Things may not exactly be looking up. but they are definitely looking less bleak.

….I like how he has us set up. We lack quality but we carry threat are well organised and they all put a shift in for the cause.

I get most posters don’t like him but I don’t mind watching Dyche Everton.

All relies on whether he picks the 'right' players.

We can see the differences without Young or Keane in defence and the freedom Onana has in midfield without Gana.

As ive said before, sets us up well...two weak spots are the lack of subs and bizarre selections.

Needs to stick with this lineup.

Dyche won’t change that. It’s how they stay compact at the back. You’re yelling at the wind.

8 league games till Xmas...

12pts+ and we'll be around mid table.

Would give us a chance to plan for transfers in Jan with a bit of breathing space.
