2024/25 Sean Dyche

Seems to be an acceptance from some posters on here that 3 games is okay and because of last season Dyche deserves to be allowed to time to sort it out. Get a draw at Villa and we can relax..

Maybe. I'd take a draw at Villa or a win. It don't make any difference to how I feel about Dyche though. I sympathise and wonder if Dyche himself has the support he needs. Is the club (Who ever is above him and above Thelwell) doing anything to engage with Dyche in the background or is he just been hung out to dry? If he's getting support and the club are engaging with him about the results, etc, then I'll relax knowing Dyche is probably edging towards the exit door. If he's just being hung out to dry and left to his own devices, what does that say about the state of the club?

He's toast.

Is Branthwaite back?

Only way we might get a draw.

I saw an interesting stat that Dyche has one of the worst August records, with only a 12% win rate. I started thinking, is that tied to his fitness regime? Its a fact that his teams always start poorly, and then it seems they play really well for a while, before hitting a tough stretch late in the season.

Is it all tied to the fitness? He runs them ragged in pre-season so that they are so tired the first part of the season, but after the first month that fitness begins to pay off and they outrun everybody. Then at some point, because he doesnt have enough players to rotate, it wears them down and they go through a bad stretch until theres a break. Last season we were 2nd, behind only Kompanys "run-all-day" Burnley in distance covered. The next 5 teams were Arsenal, Brighton, Man City, Newcastle and Tottenham.

Not sure about that. Pre-season is supposed to be about fitness to get you ready for the start of the season. Under Dyche we seem to be aiming to be ready after the first or second international break. Pre-season was woeful. Too short and inadequate. Come start of the season he plays is favourites anyway he should be blooding the new signings. Again, not ready - all down to pre-season. Or lack of.

Really really sad isn’t it, that we’ve dropped so low and the fans have been broken so badly by the way our club has been ran, which means that this clown is deemed good enough and acceptable for Everton FC, and be paid handsomely for the privilege (he doesn’t see it as a privilege either!)

Onana making a complete show of him now, with his on field performances and his comments about emery and villa vs Dyche.
It’s more a case so few managers would actually come here, that Dyche is probably the best of what was accruals available.
Have a look at previous candidates.
No Everton fan would want Dyche but you can’t pick and choose what you want.

Onana wouldn’t have worked here with any manager, it’s easier when you have better players around you. I would be questioning Onana himself over Dyche.

I thought he was quality but experienced an identity crisis under us as dyche wasn't able to utilize him properly
He was average at best, he played in the same 11 as the other midfielders and he was the worst. I would be questioning his attitude personally. It’s also easier to play better with better players around you.

Put Haaland in this team and he would struggle to get double figures.
