2024/25 Sean Dyche

We've not played poorly except for the Spurs game.

Keane was a big problem, Pickford remains a big problem.

His downfall this season will be the persistent playing of Keane. The manner in how we lost to Bournemouth, Brighton & what appears to be a bang average Spurs will be rightly scrutinised.

He knows he's a goner; not that he'll admit it privately, so all I can ask of him now is to get us in the strongest position possible to stay up and have a comfortable season.

Will appreciate the job he's done at Everton, but his stubbornness has been his downfall for me.

Says everything you need to know when we've won a game; and people aren't talking about kicking on, but ousting the manager. Even if I was the biggest sympathiser; I wouldn't be able to see how he comes back from the Bournemouth game.

So again tonight hes calling the fans out again for the boo’s saying “glorious football is hard to deliver constantly”. We’d be happy to see some standard attacking football for 30 minutes or so ffs!!
Exactly, we didn't see glorious football today either, a very good strike from McNeil and then a good assist from Harrison and finish from McNeil.

Dyche can't help himself can he, what a clown

Done a good job in the main. Poor start to the season but very early days still. Some people have written him off now though and aren't willing to change their minds
The reason people don't and won't change their minds is, fans can see him for exactly what he is, and that is a very limited manager who will get you 5/6 wins a season.

That 1st half yesterday was dreadful and I mean very hard on the eyes and the mind, that wasn't football, the team was totally disjointed no patterns of play, just hoof it back to the opposition, who were also bad, but better at football than us.

Goodison was flat yesterday for a reason, that being they the fans have had enough.

He could win the next 6 games on the bounce and I still want him gone

First season - we were definitely going down under Lampard, he came in and steadied the ship and kept us up.

Second season - Would have finished 12th without the points deduction. Definite progress.

This season - It's been poor but we're only a few games in and there's still 4 teams below us.

Not sure where all the dislike for him is coming from really.
Have you seen us play?!

Cruddy footy and being bottom، playing keane.
We dont score.many, cant keep a lead, in fairness we dont win many either. All.wont help his case really

From yesterdays guardian, musing over dyches media prospects after the Everton job:
The Dyche brand is strong. He could, if he chooses, pivot into a media career very easily. I would definitely listen to a tough love Sean Dyche podcast on male wellbeing. The Dyche-vehicle TV pitch meetings write themselves. Dyche on a Bike: Sean Dyche tours the UK’s coastal paths on a bicycle. Van Dyche: Sean Dyche drives around in a van. Dyche’s Reich: Sean Dyche takes a deep dive into the enduring lessons of Nazi Germany. Live and Let Dyche: thriller in which an undercover Sean Dyche foils a Caribbean drug cartel and also debunks the tarot card industry.

Even if we was going down under Lampard which we will never know. He hardly worked miracles. Left it down to the last game. A better manager turns that around much quicker.

I’m tired of the narrative that Dyche kept us up. He really didnt, he added nothing to our performances, if anything he made hard work of it.

Yesterday was his first victory from being behind in a game, that’s a shocking stat. Also 6th win in 25+ plus games? Another shocking stat.

Dyche offers nothing, he doesn’t coach, he has no tactics, poor player selection and not proactive during games. Just the usual tripe about basics and being fit etc.

These players aren’t that bad we have a decent first 15. A better manager gets more. We should be sat on at least 7 points now and still ok the cup.

He certainly has a better team than Benitez and Lampard had.

I really don’t understand how this idiot gets defended still.

….as a Dyche supporter I thought yesterday was quite grim.

He largely picked the side most wanted, bringing Branthwaite back immediately for Keane whilst handing starts to Ndiaye and Lindstrom. Fans continue to not like Young but he justified his selection.

As I’ve said elsewhere, I think Dyche’s biggest problem is McNeil’s transition to no10 because it’s disrupted the CM axis of Doucoure/Garner/Onana (Garner) that worked well for him last season. He has options, but he’s not found the right combination/blend, including wide areas.

The times in that first half Young was given possession from the back and literally had nobody to give it to. Lack of partnerships and blend. Dyche has to get it right, he can’t survive on last seasons achievements.

This. He’s done the job that was needed at the time.
