"sixth, seventh or eighth the best Everton can do"

So Reading/Wigan/Swansea are bigger than Leeds/Sheffield Wednesday/Wolves?

Im not quite sure I even care about any of those Clubs you mentioned mate.

Infact I would even say that each and everyone of them are so small its unreal.

Sure some of them have a decent history, but so does Hitler.

Poor argument there considering he's one of the biggest figures in world history.

Size is irrelevant, as in 2013, how rich you are dictates 'how big you are' in the eyes of 90% of the people in this world.

The focus should be on fixing the 'how poor we are' problem. Then maybe we'll be perceived as a 'big club' again.

Correct.

We could have Pep Guardiola in charge and he wouldn't have us regularly getting in Europe when there's 6 teams in the league who regularly outspend us massively.

It's the truth but it's not necessarily the right thing to say is it? You can't motivate players saying hey lads who knows if we really push it this season we can get 7th place again. I'm more than happy for Moyes to have little digs at the board when he's winning games for us but when his tactics have just cost us 3 points I think he should stay quiet on the whole club politics front. We're now coming to the end of a set of fixtures which really should have seen us push on and put pressure on the teams around us, instead we've fallen by the way side and are now having to look over our shoulders with a really tough 6/7 games coming up. Nobody would care about the effect it was having on the players so long as we were winning, think Moyes should focus on that before he starts spouting off in the press.

Sadly, in that quote Moyes speaks the unpalatable truth.

I just wish he'd care enough to condemn the reasons why that is the truth, i.e. the board & the ownership of the club, rather than just infuriatingly, blindly, continuously praise the parasites in charge.

The players aren't good enough to finish 4th, and probably not 5th either. You need to be able to beat Chelsea, Arsenal, City to do that you. You also need to win games against the bottom 6 instead of drop points.

Could he be more positive? Yeah, he could lie, it wouldn't change the outcome though. We are where we deserve to be.
Actually, you don't need to do both of those things. If we did the second we'd be 4th and possibly 3rd now

You need to do one of those things.

To be regarded as a top 4 side and not have this stigma of being nearly men, it would help to beat the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and City, since they would be your top 4 peers.

That's what I meant mate. As for beating the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and City, That would give us more prestige but there's more points available against the bottom teams.

Moyes is always the same. When the team is on a good run he endorses the business model and wouldn't swap his chairman for any other in the world, but as soon as results take a turn for the worse he starts complaining about finances.

He'll leave in the summer, and I bet his final message to the fans ends up being a reminder to back Kenwright.

'David Moyes has branded allegations that his dithering over his contract to be causing a negative distraction to his side as ´rubbish´
Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season but has refused to make a decision on his future until the end of the season.
Moyes: "I think that's rubbish; We´re still realistically playing for a place in the Champions League."
"Most seasons we've tended to finish sixth, seventh or eighth and if you ask the people who know football they would say that´s about as good as Everton can do,"
"We´ve probably been playing at our maximum for a long time at Everton - foot hard to the pedal - and I'm hoping we can go a wee bit further this season and maybe do better in the FA Cup." '

Pretty sure he doesn't say there that HE thinks that it's the best we can do...
