This is part of the problem. With this attitude we won't make change. You don't cave in and say it's pointless because every contributing action is important. We deserve everything we get with this viewpoint. The club has your dough but your non show is probably the only way this club survives. You can cheer at the game but it's not working against the vile ones as I now call them. This club seriously is starring down the barrel of a gun.

You don’t get the right to tell me I am “part of the problem”, sir.

It is none of your business whether I use the ticket it cost me dearly to buy or not.

You boycott if you want…don’t demand everyone does the same.

Opting out of auto-renewal would be the most effective way of threatening the board financially without actually having a detrimental affect on the club (at least immediately - it would be saying you have a few months to get your s**t together or there’ll be massive financial repercussions.)

If no one agrees to buy/renew a season ticket for next year, I think it would have to force change at board level.

This would require everyone pulling in the right direction though and sticking to it

This is precisely the solution.

I have sympathy with the sit-in protestors - they are trying to force change and are doing something about it - but even they are trying to have it both ways (get rid of the board but keep Moshiri's millions for fear of losing the stadium). They continue to turn up at Goodison - but doing so is futile. The only language Kenwright understands is financial. An empty stadium would make his position untenable. Forget all this self-serving talk of "but we support the team when we turn up". No, you're enjoying your matchday ritual. You need to sacrifice that if you really want to hurt the board. This team is a lost cause with this manager and this board. Accept that and stay away. That's the fastest way to change.
Couldn’t care less about a stadium it’s good cause I think it will bring in extra revenue If used and marketed correctly but I’m more concerned what I see on the pitch and the general running of the club there is a real chance we could go into liquidation the way we’re heading. If I knew everyone was going to not turn up I’d happily stay at home, it would spread a clear message but whatever we do I feel we need to all stick together to really get the message across but that’s never going to happen as we’re talking about too many people plus even if we stay away they still have our money. Honestly devastated in the situation we find ourselves in and it’s sad a club who don’t give a ? can have this affect on you.

You can do whatever you like, you’re talking to someone here who stopped going the game in 2019 and believe now more than ever that they made the correct decision though.

This is not a personal attack on you @MikeH72, I am merely using your post as an example of similar posts I've seen from many posters.
I just don't get it.
You have made a decision not to go to the match yet you presumably still consider yourself an Evertonian otherwise why would you spend so much time on an Everton forum?
What does it matter to you how well or badly the club is doing?
Why should it concern you that the board is crap, or the manager isn't up to scratch, or the players are poor?
Many people all over the world consider themselves to be Everton supporters and they are just as passionate who are as those fortunate enough to be able to attend every game. Most of these over-seas supporters actually dream of being able to attend just one match in their lifetime.
Yet you (and many others) choose not to go.
Everton is obviously still in your blood, as evidenced by the fact that you spend time here talking about them. I genuinely can't get my head around that.
I can't ever imagine not wanting to go to the match.
Maybe that time will come, but if it does I would have to cut Everton out of my life altogether. I wouldn't watch on TV, or even check the results and I certainly wouldn't spend my time discussing them on a forum.
Again I'm not having a go at you or anybody else with similar mindsets. I'm just struggling to understand it.

Personally I don’t understand the mindset of feeling like it’s some sort of obligation or rite of passage to go the game, and that being the only reason you continue going even though you don’t enjoy it and get nothing positive back from it.

I have given the club enough of my time and money over the years for absolutely no return whatsoever, so I’m done with that now and will spend my very hard earned cash on something that will reward me, like going on holiday, going to gigs, spending time with my mates and my girlfriend. I don’t understand what’s so difficult to understand about that way of thinking. I’ll still follow the club through this forum and the community on here is genuinely ace and the only thing I actually enjoy about the club these days. But my time and money can be much better spent than going the game, in my personal opinion, and I’ve not missed it since I stopped going one bit.

I think you misunderstood my point.
If that's the way you feel then what is it that makes you want to come on here and discuss all aspects of the club?
Why not spend your time as well as your money doing the things you enjoy?

I’m not sacrificing anything to come on here and talk about the club. I can do it while I’m at work, at home, on the train, whatever. I only pay a very small amount as a forum supporter as opposed to £600 a year and entire days being taken up going the game, I don’t have to plan my days around logging onto this forum and typing out some words. I don’t know how I can explain it any better really. I simply don’t enjoy going the game to watch this team and haven’t for a very very long time.

What's stopping the club from making a decision to play the rest of the season behind closed doors using the reason of player and staff safety
It would not be in their interest to do that. They would lose money and it would not be a good look.

I think a one off stay away protest would be most effective at ramping the pressure up on the board, without giving them the opportunity to twist the narrative. However, it would need a majority on boardwith it.

Agred totally, got two weeks to get the idea out there

Most people i know don't feel like that though. I went the Utd game last week, I enjoyed most of it...the day, the laughs, singing before the game- outside and inside the ground, and 'most' of the game . Do you want me to now pretend i didn't enjoy it because of the final result? We were in the game until injury time, and should have equalised (Myko sitter) and we thought we did equalise (the celebration for the 2-2 was ace- sad that it was disallowed, but that doesn't change the near 'moshpit' that happened for nearly a minute). The end result doesn't change those moments. Obviously, a win would have made the day better but the whole day was mostly really good. A great laugh and even better to go an 'away' game with one of my oldest and best mates for the first time in over 5 years.
