His average is actually almost identical (36 each). In the golden run he enjoyed last year he was batting at 5 and wasn't the keeper though. The question is whether that run was a relative flash in the pan or indicative of a lasting change.

Interesting, I thought I heard on TMS it was worse when keeping but I must have misheard.

I think they will stick with him as keeper.

Ye stokes not bowling is a weird one, he is essentially a specialist batsman at 6.

What a character Mark Wood is literally throwing himself into his bowling action, falling and hitting the deck, talking on Talk Sport this morning of consistently beating Harmy speed wise. And the pride in being there at the end with his mate Woaksie, and shaking hands as winners. The Aussies are definitely rattled.

I'd like see a formal announcement of some kind to say that 'The spirit of cricket' will no longer be observed when the game
is played by the rules.

That is probably not the best way to express it, but it needs to be pointed out that batsman backing up before the ball is bowled
is taking an unfair advantage and the bowler can run him out, and that a batsman casually walking out of his crease can be stumped.

Won't happen, of course, but this is an opportunity for England and Australia to make a joint statement to the effect that this will be the case in future matches between those two, and other cricket playing nations would probably follow suit.

It would solve the whole problem.
