What have they won ...apart from hearts and minds? That's not true though if you look at how a country like New Zealand has performed in the last 10 years.

The Test Championship? What have they won ...apart from hearts and minds?
Oh that. Well that's just the equivalent of the Charity Shield. The Test Championship?
So Test cricket is only important when England are losing at it, I see. I thought the whole point of bazball was to stop test cricket dying, and here we are belittling the very existence of itOh that. Well that's just the equivalent of the Charity Shield.
I'd genuinely forgot about that. Come on it's a bit of a Mickey mouse competition .So Test cricket is only important when England are losing at it, I see. I thought the whole point of bazball was to stop test cricket dying, and here we are belittling the very existence of it
I enjoy watching the England team. But entertaining and winning a series are not mutually exclusive. So Test cricket is only important when England are losing at it, I see. I thought the whole point of bazball was to stop test cricket dying, and here we are belittling the very existence of it
It's only a mickey mouse competition if you're not even close to winning it I suppose, it was introduced to try and bring life back into test cricket. To me limited overs competitions are mickey mouse, especially T20 which is every year now isn't it? (NZ lost a final to England by a technicality and a mistake by the umpire too, it happens).I'd genuinely forgot about that. Come on it's a bit of a Mickey mouse competition .
I was more thinking about NZ losing the 50 over World Cup final ( twice ) and the T20 World Cup final.
I actually really like their sporting attitude ( unlike the loathsome Aussie cricket team ) but whether my impression is right or wrong always feel like nice guys like them don't win.
Still don't think that first test declaration was dumb at the time, going for Aussie 2-10 at stumps was a good idea that didn't pay off, at the close of day 5 it doesn't look smart, what can you do though, for all we know if he didn't declare Root could have got out next ball, lots of things happen over 5 days, dropped catches spring to mind, that declaration didn't cost them the match on it's own.I enjoy watching the England team. But entertaining and winning a series are mutually exclusive.
Attacking cricket is great but that 1st Test declaration was just dumb.
You can support the notion of attacking cricket and still be analytical about decisions.
then declare?Still don't think that first test declaration was dumb at the time, going for Aussie 2-10 at stumps was a good idea that didn't pay off, at the close of day 5 it doesn't look smart, what can you do though, for all we know if he didn't declare Root could have got out next ball, lots of things happen over 5 days, dropped catches spring to mind, that declaration didn't cost them the match on it's own.
Which leaves you in the same situation? Jonny Bairstow being unable to catch a cricket ball cost England this series, not that declaration. It's a team game of individuals, and as blunt as it might sound it's the truth.then declare?
built on quite a sizeable 'if'...Which leaves you in the same situation? Jonny Bairstow being unable to catch a cricket ball cost England this series, not that declaration. It's a team game of individuals, and as blunt as it might sound it's the truth.
They were world number 1 for a good while, won loads of seriesI'd genuinely forgot about that. Come on it's a bit of a Mickey mouse competition .

It's not sizeable, you have no idea what the next ball might be, what the next shot Root might have played, the next runout coming from a tailender. It's all ifs buts and maybes that get analyzed on said "if" after the fact. I'd have declared knowing Khawaja and Warner were nervous, I'm in the minority on here, and that's ok.built on quite a sizeable 'if'...
Colin Jackson was world number 1 for near ten years, and never got Olympic gold. Gotta want it...They were world number 1 for a good while, won loads of series
