The Champions League Final - Spurs v The Other Lot.

Sky Sports just did a list of the top 6 biggest clubs in England based on the number of major trophies won. Spurs were on the list but we weren’t. What’s that all about?

Honestly this has been one of the worst, if not the worst seasons I've ever seen. Two teams that should really have got knocked out of the competition getting into the final. If Inter Milan hadn't been messing about Spurs wouldn't of even been there. If Mbappe hadn't been messing around in the 93rd minute then, the RS would be out. You had the ludicrous situation where Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Man United were almost fighting not to qualify for the chumps league. I think people have mistakenly assumed that football has got better, because players cost more than isn't the case. Spurs would of quite easily beaten the RS and the very least got a draw at Anfield a few weeks ago and effed it up, the same tonight didn't bother to turn up.
The ludicrous situation where fans follow their team across Europe and end up the final being played in a country, where one of their main players can't visit sums up the main focus of UEFA. Man City beating Watford 6-0 in the FA cup final was even more embarrassing, no matter how good City are, it's still pathetic. Barca gave Liverpool the trophy, it was almost if they wanted Liverpool to go through. Most managers would say don't concede early, no that divvy defender heads back to their attacker and they score an easy goal. Even how average we are, without Pickford's mistake we would of got something. They aren't that good it's just everybody else is s***e. Anyway FTRS.

liverpool have bought their trophy well done
time for mosh to buy ours :)

So they spent 68m on Salah and Mane
We spent 69m on Sigs and Schneids.

That is why we'll always be nothing compared to them, and why there will be no blues left in the city by circa 2040. Business.

30 years of mis-management will not be fixed in 5 by Brands - even if he is the DoF equivalent of Perry Mason.

That won't be directly affected by this win though as the deal signed. They got to the final last year and essentially could only spend the Coutinho money because of the enormous wage bill. They are in big trouble the day they go out at the group stages, it will cave in as it did under Benitez. We can only hope the league doesn't bail them out again by not imposing the admin points deduction.
You mean the owners are running them in a competent manner, rather than just p...ing away billions up against the wall?!?

Fact is, Liverpool proves that having a good manager makes all the difference.

They also spent £55m on Carroll and Downing, same mistake we made. Buying English tosh based on stats.

They’ve got a clear plan now, it’s what we must aim for. Good recruitment to meet the managers requirements

I agree largely, but it is quite possible to fix the squad in a couple of seasons with shrewd buys and decent budgets.

Not necessarily easy, but just a few players in key positions can make a big difference.

When they bought Carroll, Dalglish also signed Suarez for relative buttons. They ended up getting really good value that window.

Because a lot of people who follow the sport have convinced themselves that "major trophies" are all of equal importance. The reality is that there are 3 major trophies for English clubs to win and they are the League Title, the CL (European Cup) and the FA Cup. And clearly the FA Cup is not comparable to a title.

The word success is used to have clubs like Tottenham seem more important than what theyve actually been in their history. Technically are more successful if all honours were equal but quite clearly they're not.

Villa are the closest to us for important honours with their 7 titles and European Cup. Followed by Chelsea.

Our past success is becoming less relevant as the years go by though. A shame that the club has gone through this spell. Even a League Cup would do as we arent winning a top trophy any time soon, if ever again.
