The Champions League Final - Spurs v The Other Lot.

Spurs have enough to beat them, it’s how they react because I’d imagine the RS to come out of the blocks fast.

I don’t want them to win, the CL may not be as glorious as it once was but they’ve been to as many finals as we’ve won leagues. Some kopite troll reminded me this yesterday, to be fair to him it put me in my place

Their place is getting the country banned from the competition they like to crow about.

Anything they ever achieve is tarnished imo. They are an irrelevance.

Sport should be about entertainment and enjoyment. They bring neither to the table for me.

I understand the clamour to downplay Liverpool’s achievements on this forum, but they came within one result of winning the title over 38 games which suggests near-parity with the eventual champions this season at least, and reached the final by walloping one of the best teams in world football. Not sure what’s fluky about any of that, tbf.

The help of some moody decisions, a revisionist approach to money spent 'achieving' this, a completely disproportionate amount of media punditry bigging them up with all kinds of hard luck stories, defending the indefensible, promoting an agenda with so much deluded propaganda that it's become an irritant to a majority of football supporters.
Man City won the treble a week or so ago, never been done before, few moments and pictures highlighting that achievement, all completely overshadowed by the r/s achievement of finishing 2nd and not yet winning a final.
Their whole 'belief system' is based on the fact that even if they cheat, spawn or lose they can rewrite it all as victory.
Absolute sham of a club.

adjective

adjective: flukey

obtained or achieved more by chance than skill.

I managed to avoid the end of season by being on holiday and, tonight we have relatives coming who have absolutely no interest in football. Perfect!

It's a weird one, I clearly will be feeling a bit grim if they do win, but having seen them lose the league on 97 points I'm not nearly as arsed (so far)
Same here. The Premiership was the big one and they blew it.

If it wasn't for that unbelievable bottle job by Barcelona we would all be enjoying a nice start to June, and the media would be a whole lot less irritating.

As it is, I'll be disappointed if they win it. But for a competition that allows 4 defeats and still let's you get to the final....and let's you qualify without actually being champions....I can't muster up enough respect for that to be devastated if they do beat Spurs.

I detect a massive bottling job here. All the ingredients are in place. Kopite expectancy weighing a ton on nervous players - players with dodgy characters. Klopp the ultimate overwrought manager. channeling panic. Kane, Son, Moura, Alli, Eriksen - they can all grab goals. Despite all the bollocks about VVD he has errors in him. Firget the hype, he's a liability on occasion.

I put this gane ona knife's edge, not as an Everton fan who is wishful thinking it to be that way, but in reality.....in fact, I'd be tempted to make Spurs just favourites.

would have fancied ajax to win but got zero faith in spurs
Not for me. Ajax looked like a bunch of clueless teenagers by the end of their tournament. And they were way too slow paced for any PL outfit at the top of their game. They knocked off Madrid and Juventus because they were allowed to play at their own pace.

Unfortunately there will be 1bn people watching this worldwide so whoever wins it gets their profile boosted massively. Particularly bad news if you are the only other club who share the same city as one of them. COYS

Think Spurs will get stuffed myself, but still retain a sliver of hope that they actually turn up. If it had been Ajax in the final I wouldn't even have wasted my time watching it. Not even Klopp can lose 7 straight finals, can he?

Spurs ruined them on the break. They wouldnt have coped against the RS.
