The Everton Board Thread

I think the ‘interim’ period he will be here for the transition will conclude with the building and opening of the stadium. I think after that we will see him trot off into the sunset. In the meantime, as others have suggested, I think he will do the bare minimum as Chairman

I knew he was a big shot TV Executive Producer but looking him up I see he's a Scouse Evertonian raised and educated in Netherton/Crosby. His media son & his missus are big Blues judging by the photos. Probably means more to me than to those who know the score with him.
I remember his son on Twitter was slagging off fans who wanted Lampard out so I hope his arl kecks isn’t as clueless.

I’m hoping most of his power base is now gone. His main involvements, from what anyone can tell by information made available to the public, was previously in transfers and his influence over the other board members. He was de facto CEO and director of football without holding either title.

Recent media coverage of the shambles at Everton does seem to have included that Thelwell is now the person picking up the phone for transfers rather than Bill so hopefully that’s one interference removed.

If MSP bring in directors, including in the CEO position that have no historical link to Kenwright then they’ll very quickly get rid of any undue influence he’ll try and exert. At worst he’ll end up as some benign figure head, at best he’ll be removed completely shortly.

He will corrode everything he touches. That includes MSP. They are done here as well now.

…..behind all this Boardroom turmoil, what really matters is we start the season with a stronger squad than the one we finished with.

More specifically, we have to do what Thelwell has failed to do in two windows, GIVE US MORE ATTACKING STRENGTH. It’s not rocket science, that we need a really effective central striker and genuine creativity and threat in wide areas. I’m confident we’ll survive if we give this manager that firepower.

Turmoil off the pitch ultimately transitions to issues on it, hopefully somebody is looking at playing requirements. If we are reliant on DCL going into next season it will be an abomination of everybody running our club.

Its Bill doing the transfers, and he will continue to.

My main concern is moving Chong away from heading up the stadium. He's doing a fantastic job and can't have both the duties of CEO and Stadium Director for long.
