They plan 2 years ahead with every player though which is key. Every player in their first team has an equally talented 17-19 year old coming through behind them. These younger lads are usually on loan somewhere (previously it was Union SG in Belgium which was Blooms other club but he has sold his controlling stake now) This allows them to see if the youngster is going to be able to make the step up into competitive football and gain some matchday experience then they come back and transition into the first team when their first team player has been sold on. In terms of finding the talent in the first place, well they tend to stay out of the 5 'top tier' leagues and seem to focus on the top youngsters in that tier 2 and tier 3 leagues so places like Scandinavia and the smaller South American countries or Asia, places the bigger clubs don't tend to focus on and they are prepared to play the long game with it and take risks (hence thinking 2 years ahead to cover themselves)I acknowledge we are more demanding fans than Brighton(for now) but it doesn't mean we can't find the bargains they do. Our reliance on other clubs to do our scouting, take the chance and prove a player are a 'safe bet'(which clearly wasnt true) is costing us financially and stylistically, and is no excuse for dropping morals when a few extra shillings can be made.
We can save the money by being smart in the transfer market.
So many stupid decisions by this club of late

Keeping a manager longer term is key for sure, they might feel more comfortable giving academy players a run too as a resultNo one will argue with you that the club have made stupid decisions and been badly run. The problem is though now we are like this there is no magic bullet to pull us out.
The first thing we must try to do is keep a manager for starters the whole season and ideally a few. Using Maupay as an example, he was Lampard's player who may have had a grand plan to build a team more to his strengths but doesn't at all fit into a Dyche side. Vice versa with Doucoure despite being bought even earlier by someone else. Until you build a settled team who know each others game inside out and not having a strop that the manager who signed them has been booted several months later will we stop building this collection of misfits. With that every pound helps and had we 5 or so million less to spend due to our sponsorship deal would probably mean an Iwobi would have to be jettisoned for nothing just to clear that from the wage bill or Pickford/Onana having to leave.
Individually our players are better than they are showing and if they were at other clubs that have a bit more confidence collectively they would probably look okay. Not world beaters but similar to other players that populate sound mid table sides.
I'll have a pint of what you're drinking. We have a stronger team than we did last season.
