The Everton Board Thread

Fact is, if a board of director is unfit to carry out their role/duties and the club members cannot ask questions at EFC AGM (public meeting for members with published minutes) including if a director is fit enough to carry out the role/duties

This is very very bad position for the club to be placed in

It in itself is highly damaging
I am not disagreeing that if a significant person of control or an officer of the company in a key position is affected in anyway, whether that be through illness, other personal or financial distress etc, which may affect their ability to conduct the duties of their office, they need to discuss to stakeholders (including shareholders).

I asked about whether we know in the first instance if Bill was ill, you say he reported it to shareholders. I also would like to know whether this illness (whatever it is) is impacting his ability to undertake the duties of his office - I know you have said you can’t give much away but your view is that his performance is affected by his illness. This is fine….but I am saying there is no public evidence of this (at least that I am aware of) so I would have possibly minimised any reference to his illness in the open letter) but it’s out there now, so let’s see what response it gets from the club (doubtful) or the wider media…..it may very well be the hand grenade required to draw the attention of the wider media once more. Who knows!

Its like playing poker and watching your chips disappear as the blinds go up. Its mental. The only new rules, if the are interested in actual fairness and competition, is the create limits on the top end, not the bottom.

Just an observation, but some posters on here really love to deal in absolutes

I'm saying myself personally, I believe it has/did

Others might have a different view

I'm not a shareholder however.

The shareholders would be well within their rights to be very angry if this information was being kept from them as it is on top of the cancelling of the in person EFC Annual General Meetings also

One also needs to think about the choice of photograph for Bill Kenwright in the EFC Annual Report (accounts)

Its a photo from 15 years ago. How is that right?

What evidence is their to suggest that BK is very ill?
The view held by one or two, is that he told Shareholders that he was in ill health but no more specifics given than that and no real information given as to the whether that illness has affected him in doing his job. It may very well be correct - there just doesn’t appear to be any evidence of it at this stage in the public domain

People should ask themselves

Why were the Everton Football Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) cancelled when they were? Unannounced.

Was this really the best idea or in the best interests of the club?
I did. Didn't like the answer because it does point to that long growing disconnect between club and fans which has peaked of late.
Regardless Private Limited Companies are not required to hold AGMs since 2006 anyway so....

Listen, I agree that if (and that’s the key word) if he is ill, he should disclose as fully as possible details of the illness if (again that word) it affects how he does his job. if he has not been forthcoming than that is completely unacceptable and yes that photo is an exercise in vanity (I’m surprised he didn’t include one from his Coronation Street days)

There is multiple sources of public information. The shareholders were made aware prior to Christmas of his ill health by him directly.

Bill Kenwright has previously spoken of his ill health publicly to the press

The cancelling of the EFC AGM removed a mechanism for him to answer questions on the matter

People should question again, why was the EFC Annual General Meetings cancelled so abruptly with no notice
