It's very sad.

This is why the German model is better for fans of more modest means.

Given the globalisation of the game, the idea that people can feel entitled to watch the best footballers from all over the world every week is going to be seriously challenged. In fact, the idea of clubs representing their locales has been challenged for decades now. The players come from all over the world, so why not the fans?

Each seat will have a price. That price will be too rich for many to purchase it every second week.

It is what it is. Unless we have a fan-led game with fans having the controlling say in all clubs, then this is what is inevitable given England's rush to be the wild west of football. The Germans refused to take this approach. It's why their clubs are, typically, less competitive in European competition (though competitive enough). But PL fans are more right-wing, in general, and this is the outcome of that.
Yeah
The German model is the best I know of .
Even they are struggling to retain it .
I can see myself travelling to Germany more and more for my football fix in the future . 😀

Without question mate, actually it’s more about these corporate or hospitality price pants then season ticket holders, the yields are very low for just match going fans in comparrison.

This is why I think they won’t care if loads walk away with increases in season tickets general sale - these customers won’t be seen mission critical. Thats cold but that’s how they will look at it, not just TFG but this has been worked out before the stadium is even built. There will be a cultural shift at BMD that will surprise many I think.

There is also a waiting list for season tickets.

tbf whoever is in place for sales for the corporate sections at BMD seem to have done alright as everything is sold out and I think it came at a pretty penny.

Given the way the PL prices will likely rise, a Ryanair flight to Berlin or Munich might still work out cheaper for you. ;)

And people need to remember that we are in the Greed Is Good League, which is the main attraction for the Friedkins. So those lamenting increased ticket prices and the wild west economics of English football need to factor in that reality. They're not here out of the good of their hearts, They are here to make money. It is what it is.
Sad but true, and the new ground was always going to mean our prices went up.

To make money they need a sound business and solid strategy, so basically everything we’ve been missing, which can only be a good thing for us long term. They must come in and do a total root and branch restructure of all business operations, and I hope they bring the Toyota ethos and ways of working with them, a little bit of total quality management is just what we need. kaizen blitz the gaff!

You only need to visit the two club shops to see what a total disaster our club is on that front, it’s a totally depressing experience, and the online offering is probably worse.

Way less, we are estimated to have less than 5 million world wide.

Its very different in Italy, but Roma will also be supported by a massive chunk of the Italian migrant families all round the world.

Also Roma as a City or the Lazio region has almost 6 million people in it, and only 2 local clubs - Yes a huge chunk of these will be Juve / Milan glory hunters too, but Roma's reach is huge.

Good points but you know the saying. One evertonian is worth 20 kopites. I think when you look at figures of fanbases it's all skewed anyway.

Glory hunters shouldn't count and in the case of teams like Liverpool I know so called Liverpool fans who couldn't even name 5 of their players.

I know that’s how we feel romantically about supporting our team mate, but those fans put money into the clubs, via watching streams, social, paid views, memberships, shirt sales, and those viewing numbers dictate what teams play live on TV.

The teams with the most fans, get the most money.

But teams can get up their with the correct ownership and investment, like Chelsea & Man City - Both of these are now amongst the best supported in the world.

I'm just happy for a fresh start. It might all go tits up but it's new, gives a bit of optimism.
Thats it tbh atleast we have a chance now was just stuck going nowhere with moshiri. Also great to see the looking pay off the debt like rmf just to clear it. Good start so far but hopefilly next we can start to hear we names they want to bring into the club on the board ect
