I would put Rudisha and McLaughlin ahead of Bolt, tbh (of course McLaughlin will almost certainly break her record again, but can’t see others doing this.

Teddy McCarthy the only man to win senior all Ireland medals, in hurling and gaelic football in the one year.

Obviously Corks two all Ireland winning captains in 1990 Tomas Mulcahy and Larry Tompkins were and are huge heroes to me as well.





Truth be told you could pick anyone there out of that lot, for the title of my favourite sportsperson. There're all heroes to me!

We haven't had much success in both codes since 1990 though. Three hurling all Irelands in 1999, 2004 and 2005, and a football all Ireland in 2010, so that's four all senior Irelands in both codes in the last thirty two years.

The double has only been done on four occasions, Cork in 1890, Tipperary in 1895 and 1900, and Cork again in 1990. So it's a very rare feat alright.

I immediately lost interest in rugby when Lomu retired. He really was a once off, we'll never see someone like him again! He was awesome in that 1995 World Cup. It's so sad that he passed away so tragically.
